Two-day festival for immigrants organised by the Athens Party Organisation

Joint class struggle against capital and its power

On Friday and Saturday 2-3 July the Athens Party Organisation of KKE organised for tenth year in succession a two day cultural and political festival for immigrants. Families of Greek and immigrant workers joined the festival whose main slogan was “law is the rights of the workers. People, no sacrifice for plutocracy, build the front to conquer the power”.

All these years the festival has been built in the workplaces and the neighborhoods, with the participation of Greek and Immigrant workers who struggle together in the workplaces, in the neighborhoods, in strikes and demonstrations, through the class oriented trade unions.

Immigrant workers from recycling factories, small textile industries, construction sites, printing companies, metal workers and young second generation immigrants discussed, sang and danced together.

Communities of immigrants from Tanzania, Philippines, Georgia, Congo, Madagascar, Sudan, Bangladesh, Somalia, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, as well as the association for immigrants’ drug rehabilitation “Mosdaik” and the Union of Palestinian Workers living in Greece took part in the festival. PAME, KNE , the “democratic alliance for the people’s freedoms and solidarity” and other mass organizations participated in the festival with their own news-stands.

The aim of these events is to propagate the theses of KKE on immigration. Furthermore, they offer one more opportunity to discuss about the causes that force the people to leave their countries as well as about the goals of the ant-immigrants policy of the EU and the national governments.

Thanassis Pafilis member of the CC of KKE, MP and district administrator candidate in the upcoming local and regional elections delivered the main speech at the festival.

The representative of KKE stressed: “it is very important to repel the efforts of the political forces that serve the interests of the plutocracy, to divide the workers, to hinder the participation of the popular forces in a joint front disorienting the people from the real causes of the crisis and the problems”. We will do whatever we can so as to prevent the poison of racism and nationalism from infecting the working people, and the poor popular strata of our country that suffer the capital’s attack.

KKE regards the joint struggle of Greek and immigrant workers as well as other radical forces as a primary task. KKE does not adopt the distinction between “legal” and “illegal” immigrants. It does not accept the term “illegal immigration”.

The point is that immigrant and Greek workers have common interests. They have the power to overthrow the capitalist barbarity and build the people’s power in a common class struggle with PAME, strengthening KKE against racism and xenophobia, against the illusions about the humanization of capitalism

Двухдневные мероприятия Партийной организации Афин (ПОА) КП Греции, посвященные эмигрантам

За совместную классовую борьбу против капитала и его власти

2 и 3 июля состоялось двухдневное политической и культурное мероприятие ПОА компартии Греции. Уже десять лет семьи греков и эмигрантов рабочих ежегодно приглашаются на него.

Праздник шел под лозунгом «Закон – это права рабочих. Нет жертвам для плутократии. Народный фронт за власть». Его ежегодно строят на рабочих местах и жилых районах греки и эмигранты, действующие совместно на заводах, мануфактурах, стройках, в жилых районах. Это рабочие разных национальностей, сплотившиеся в классовых профсоюзах, и участвующие вместе в забастовках и демонстрациях. На двухдневных мероприятиях КПГ участвовали, беседуя, поя и танцуя, трудящиеся эмигранты из заводов по переработке отходов, жёстко боровшиеся в последний год, эмигранты швейных мануфактур, трудящиеся отрасли метала, типографий, молодые эмигранты, родившиеся и выросшие в Греции. Среди участников числились общества эмигрантов из Танзании, Филиппин, Грузии, Конго, Мадагаскара, Судана, Бангладеш, Сомали, Кении, Буркина-Фасо, Нигерии, а также Общество освобождения от наркотиков для эмигрантов «Мосдайк» и Союз палестинцев трудящихся в Греции. Там были поставлены ПАМЕ, КМГ, «Демократическое сплочение за народные свободы и солидарность» и другие структуры.

Цель этих мероприятий показать позиции КПГ по эмиграции. Они предоставляют возможность обсудить причины эмиграции и цели анти-эмиграционной политики ЕС и национальных правительств.

Основным выступающим мероприятия был Т. Пафилис, член ЦК КПГ, депутат и кандидат в интенданты Аттики на предстоящих местных и региональных выборах.

Он подчеркнул, что: «Большое значение имеет отразить попытки политических сил, служащих интересам капиталистов разделить трудящихся, и помешать сплочению народных сил в едином фронте. Они пытаются отвлечь народ от настоящих причин кризиса».

Он также отметил: «Мы сделаем всё возможное, чтобы не позволить яду расизма и национализма отравить рабочих нашей страны и бедные народные слои, ежедневно терпящие наступление капитала.

КПГ считает первостепенной задачей коммунистов и других радикальных сил организацию совместной борьбы греков и эмигрантов трудящихся.

КПГ не разделяет эмигрантов на «легальных» и «нелегальных», она не принимает термин «нелегальная эмиграция».

Эмигрантам и грекам рабочим нечего делить. Выступая в рядах ПАМЕ, усиливая КПГ, борясь против расизма и ксенофобии, противостоя иллюзиям о гуманизации капитализма, они смогут свергнуть капиталистическое варварство и установить народную власть.

Festival organizado por la Organización del Partido de Atenas para los inmigrantes

Lucha clasista común contra el capital y su poder

El viernes 2 y el sábado 3 de julio se realizó el festival político y cultural organizado por la Organización del Partido de Atenas por décimo año. Familias de trabajadores griegos e inmigrantes participaron en los eventos cuyo lema principal fue “Ley es lo que es justo para los trabajadores. Ningún sacrificio para la plutocracia. ¡Que el pueblo construya el frente para conquistar el poder!”.

Durante todos estos años el festival “se va construyendo” en los centros de trabajo y en los barrios contando con la participación de trabajadores griegos e inmigrantes que trabajan juntos en las fábricas, en los lugares de construcción, en los barrios, que están juntos en la huelga y en las manifestaciones, que se agrupan en los sindicatos de orientación de clase.

En el festival del KKE participaron, discutieron, cantaron y bailaron trabajadores inmigrantes de las plantas de reciclaje que han tenido batallas difíciles el año pasado, inmigrantes de las fábricas textiles, de las construcciones, de las fábricas, trabajadores en el sector del metal, de empresas de impresión y jóvenes inmigrantes de segunda generación.

En el festival participaron comunidades de inmigrantes de Tanzania, Filipinas, Georgia, Congo, Madagascar, Sudán, Bangladesh, Somalia, Kenia, Burkina Faso, Nigeria así como la Asociación para la rehabilitación de inmigrantes de drogas “Mosdaik” y la Unión de Trabajadores Palestinos en Grecia. En el lugar del festival había también quioscos del PAME, de la KNE, de la “Alianza Democrática para las libertades populares y la solidaridad” y otras organizaciones.

El objetivo de este festival es de proyectar las posiciones del KKE sobre la inmigración y ofrecer una oportunidad más de discutir acerca de las causas que obligan al desarraigo de la gente y los objetivos de la política contra la inmigración promovida por la Unión Europea y los gobiernos nacionales.

El representante del KKE destacó que “es muy importante repeler los esfuerzos de las fuerzas políticas al servicio de los intereses de la plutocracia de dividir a los trabajadores, de obstaculizar el agrupamiento de las fuerzas populares en un frente común desorientando al pueblo de las verdaderas causas de la crisis y de los impasses”. Entre otras cosas mencionó que “vamos a hacer todo lo posible para impedir que el veneno del racismo y del nacionalismo afecte a los y trabajadores y las trabajadoras en nuestro país, a los sectores populares pobres que hoy sufren de la ofensiva del capital.

El KKE considera la lucha común de los trabajadores griegos e inmigrantes como tarea principal de los comunistas y de las demás fuerzas radicales. El KKE no adopta la distinción entre ‘legales’ e ‘ilegales’, no acepta el término ‘inmigración ilegal’”.

El mensaje del festival es que los trabajadores inmigrantes y griegos tienen intereses comunes. La lucha común de orientación de clase junto con PAME, el fortalecimiento del KKE, la lucha contra el racismo y la xenofobia, contra las ilusiones sobre la humanización del capitalismo pueden derrocar la barbarie e imponer el poder popular.
