Solidarity with Swiss fencers who protested against Israel's genocidal regime!
We express solidarity with the four Swiss athletes, Ian Hauri, Jonathan Fuhrimann, Sven Vineis, and Théo Brochard, who had the courage, not to express a political opinion, but to honor the humanitarian tradition of the Swiss Confederation as part of the award ceremony of the Under-23 fencing tournament.
The four Swiss athletes behaved in a sporting manner by saluting their colleagues who won the competition, but they legitimately expressed dissent to the sole anthem and flag of a genocidal regime that has occupied Palestine for 50 years against UN resolutions.
The Swiss Fencing Federation should have defended the freedom of these brave athletes, but instead demonstrated political and ideological subalternity to Zionist diktats. We also deplore the exquisitely paternalistic comment that was made to the media, “they are still young and inexperienced.” Despite their young age, Ian Hauri, Jonathan Fuhrimann, Sven Vineis, Théo Brochard have shown more maturity than many other people, advanced in age but opportunistic and conformist in the face of a crime against humanity that has been going on for half a century.
In fact, Israeli sportsmen are practically all members of the Zionist Armed Forces, which also murder Palestinian athletes on a daily basis. Does Swiss Fencing condemn them? And has the Federation protested the discrimination suffered by Russian athletes excluded from various competitions? The double standard, that's unsportsmanlike!
Also pathetic is the letter made to be signed by the four athletes, forced to humiliate themselves and apologize publicly for a gesture that was instead appreciated and shared by a large part of public opinion in our country and by thousands of students of the same age as these sportsmen who have been demonstrating for months in our universities facing unprecedented repression.
Swiss sports shall emancipate itself from Zionist infiltration! Palestine will win!
