It is with great pleasure that we send you fraternal greetings on the occasion of the 90^th anniversary of the founding of your heroic party.

The Communist Party of Viet Nam, under your unforgettable leader Ho Chi Minh and a brilliant constellation of other people’s leaders, not only led your country’s struggle against French, Japanese and U.S. imperialism to a resounding victory and irreversible unification.  It has also guided your entire nation through the extremely difficult tasks of economic develop in a world still dominated by gigantic scale monopoly capitalism.   It pleases us greatly to observe the degree to which the living standards of the Vietnamese people as a whole have been rising under your party’s guidance.

But the example of the triumph of the Communist Party of Viet Nam has impacted our own nation as well, and the world beyond both countries.   The example of Viet Nam’s struggle against U.S. imperialist intervention inspired a whole generation of people in the United States, including members of our own party, not only to act in solidarity with your country, but also to take up the many national and international struggles against the injustices which the world faces today.  So, we are eternally grateful to your party for its example.

Nor have we forgotten the solidarity tasks incumbent on us which have resulted from the unfulfilled promises the U.S. government made to Vietnam after the war. 

So, we express our gratitude and solidarity with your heroic party on the occasion of your anniversary, and also send our best wishes for a successful Party Congress next year.
