Dear comrades,
The Communist Party of Australia sends warm fraternal greetings on the 80th anniversary
of the founding of the Communist Party of Burma. We admire and congratulate our Burmese
comrades for their bravery and their determination for class struggle in the face of extreme
adversity.
The founding of your party, as you briefly mentioned in your message, indeed took place in
a tumultuous time of colonialism and imperialist war. And it was in these times that the CPB
offered resistance and led the people against both British and Japanese forces, a history
worth celebrating. We realise that the legacy of colonialism has still not faded, as it ensured
to leave behind nations plundered, in chaos and with reactionary powers in control.
Just as Marxist principles guided CPB in its early days, we are confident that the same
principles will continue providing guidance to overcome the current challenges of post
colonialism and capitalism. We offer our militant solidarity in all your struggles.
Long live the Communist Party of Burma!
Long live working-class internationalism!
In working class solidarity,
Vinnie Molina
