100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Britain, 1 August 2020  Robert Griffiths General Secretary Communist Party of Britain   Dear comrade,  On behalf of the Communist Party of Australia, please receive warm fraternal greetings on the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of Britain. It is an occasion for the celebration of past struggles, achievements, and of comrades who have passed on, as well as a time for deep reflection.   Your party’s 100th year celebrations fall in a year of unprecedented times. The pandemic has shaken and exposed the failings of the capitalist system. It has further aggravated the economic and social crises that the people were already facing. These are challenging times indeed, but our comrades everywhere, including those in the CPB have known and faced worse adversaries in the past. Our work as communists not only continues but is picking up momentum. We are sure these challenges are proving to be a thought-provoking backdrop to your centenary celebrations.  The CPB has a rich past and much to celebrate and to be proud of on the 1st of August, 2020. We look forward to a celebration of your party’s history, and also of its potential for a bright, socialist future.  This year also marks the 100th year of the CPA. Our parties have always maintained good fraternal relations, and we wish to further strengthen them.   Long live the Communist Party of Britain!  Long live working-class internationalism!
