The Communist Party of Denmark (DKP) strongly condemns the arrest of the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu, the repression of, and violence against the demonstrations against the repressive AKP government, and the recent arrest of our comrades from the Turkish Communist Party (TKP).

These arrests are a direct attack on the democratic rights of the Turkish people and on all those who fight for a better future. The AKP government, which is taking increasingly harsh action against the people, is trying to crush any form of resistance through oppression, arrests and violence.

We declare our full solidarity with the TKP and all political prisoners who are being detained because of their struggle against repression. The working class and progressive forces in Turkey will not allow themselves to be intimidated.

Solidarity with the TKP! Freedom for our comrades from TKP and freedom for all political prisoners!
