Mass anti-imperialist mobilizations all over Greece

The 42^nd Marathon Peace March in Attica ended on Sunday, 18 May, in front of the Ministry of Defence with a large rally expressing opposition to the country’s involvement in the USA–NATO–EU imperialist plans and solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Elpida Pandelaki, General Secretary of the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE), stressed in her speech at the rally that: “We are confronting the real opponent of the peoples, the decayed exploitative system, capital and its political servants. We are fighting against the attempt to entrap the people and the youth, the so-called national interest and the so-called national unity, which are identified with the interests and profits of the exploiters and are used to justify the country’s participation in the imperialist wars that put our people in great danger. The forces that fight for the rights and interests of the peoples, to live in peace, in conflict with imperialism, the exploiters and the oppressors are on the right side of history”.

Similar mass mobilizations were carried out by the organizations of the anti-imperialist movement and the Peace Committees in front of the US–NATO military bases in Crete, Thessaly, Western Greece, etc.

Крупные антиимпериалистические митинги по всей Греции

В воскресенье вечером, ​​18 мая, в Афинах у Министерства обороны Греции финишировал 42-й марафон мира, где состоялся крупный митинг, на котором собравшиеся выразили свое несогласие с участием страны в империалистических планах США, НАТО и ЕС, а также солидарность с народом Палестины.

Генеральный секретарь Греческого комитета за мир и разоружение (ЕЕДИЕ) Элпида Пантелаки в своем выступлении на митинге, в частности, отметила: «Мы выступаем против настоящего врага народа - прогнившей эксплуататорской системы, капитала и его политических слуг. Мы противостоим попыткам подчинить народ и молодежь так называемым национальным интересам, так называемому национальному единству, которые отождествляются с интересами и прибылями эксплуататоров и используются для оправдания участия страны в империалистических войнах, подвергающих наш народ большой опасности. На правильной стороне истории находятся силы, которые борются за права и интересы народов, за их мирную  жизнь, противостоят империализму, эксплуататорам и угнетателям».

Организации антиимпериалистического движения и комитеты за мир и разоружение провели аналогичные массовые митинги у стен американо-натовских военных баз на Крите, в Фессалии, Западной Греции и др.

Grandes movilizaciones antiimperialistas en toda Grecia

El domingo 18 de mayo por la tarde, frente al Ministerio de Defensa concluyó la 42a Maratón por la Paz en Ática. La gran concentración expresó la oposición a la implicación del país en los planes imperialistas de EE.UU., la OTAN y la UE, así como la solidaridad con el pueblo de Palestina.

Elpida Pantelaki, secretaria general del Comité Griego por la Distensión Internacional y la Paz (EEDYE), destacó en su discurso en la concentración que: “Nos enfrentamos al verdadero adversario de los pueblos, el sistema explotador podrido, el capital y sus servidores políticos, luchamos contra el intento de atrapar al pueblo y la juventud, el llamado interés nacional, la llamada unidad nacional que están identificados con los intereses y las ganancias de los explotadores y se utilizan para justificar la participación del país en las guerras imperialistas que ponen en grandes riesgos a nuestro pueblo. En el lado correcto de la Historia están las fuerzas que luchan por los derechos e intereses de los pueblos, por una vida en paz, en choque con el imperialismo, sus explotadores y opresores”.

Las organizaciones del movimiento antiimperialista y los Comités por la Paz llevaron a cabo movilizaciones masivas respectivas frente a las bases militares de EE.UU.-OTAN en Creta, Tesalia, el oeste de Grecia, etc.

Grandes mobilisations anti-impérialistes dans toute la Grèce

La 42e marche pour la Paix en Attiques'est achevée dimanche 18 mai 2025 devant le ministère de la Défense par un grand rassemblement exprimant l'opposition à l'implication de notre pays dans les plans impérialistes des États-Unis, de l'OTAN et de l'UE, ainsi que la solidarité avec le peuple palestinien.

Lors du rassemblement,ElpidaPandelaki, Secrétaire Générale du Comité Grec pour la Détente Internationale et la Paix (EEDYE), a prononcé un discours soulignant que: «Nous combattons le véritable ennemi des peuples, le système d'exploitation pourri, le capital et ses serviteurs politiques. Nous luttons contre la tentative de piéger le peuple et la jeunesse, contre le prétendu intérêt national et la prétendue unité nationale, qui sont identifiés aux intérêts et aux profits des exploiteurset qui servent à justifier la participation de la Grèce aux guerres impérialistes qui mettent notre peuple en grand danger. Les forces qui luttent pour les droits et les intérêts des peuples, pour qu'ils puissent vivre en paix, en conflit avec l'impérialisme, les exploiteurs et les oppresseurs, sont du bon côté de l'histoire».

Des mobilisations de masse similaires ont été organisées par les organisations du mouvement anti-impérialiste et les Comités pour la Paix devant les bases militaires des États-Unis et de l'OTAN en Crète, en Thessalie, en Grèce occidentale et ailleurs.

تحركاتٌ كبيرة مناهضة للإمبريالية في سائر أنحاء اليونان

اختتمت مسيرة السلام الماراثونية اﻠ42 في محافظة أتيكي بعد ظهر اﻷحد 18\5 عِبر إقامة تظاهرة كبيرة خارج مقرِّ وزارة الدفاع، أُعربَ ضِمنها عن مناهضة توريط البلاد في الخطط الإمبريالية للولايات المتحدة وحلف شمال الأطلسي والاتحاد الأوروبي، و كذلك عن التضامن مع الشعب الفلسطيني.

هذا و كانت إلبيذا باندِلاكي، الأمينة العامة للهيئة اليونانية من أجل الركود و السلم الدوليين، قد أكَّدت في سياق كلمتها خلال التظاهرة على: «إننا نصطدمُ مع العدو الفعلي للشعوب، وهو النظام الاستغلالي العفِن، رأس المال و خُدَّامهُ السياسيون. و نناهِضُ محاولات حبس الشعب والشباب ضمن ما يُسمى بالمصلحة الوطنية، و ما يُسمَّى بالوحدة الوطنية، اللتين تتطابقان مع مصالح وأرباح المستغلين، و يجري تسخيرهما من أجل تبرير مشاركة البلاد في الحروب الإمبريالية التي تُعرّض شعبنا لمخاطر كبيرة. على الجانب الصحيح من التاريخ، تقف تلك القوى التي تُناضل من أجل حقوق الشعوب ومصالحها، لكي تعيشَ بسلام، في صدامِ مع الإمبريالية والمستغلين والطغاة».

هذا و في المُقابِل، أجرت منظمات الحركة المناهضة للإمبريالية ولجان السلام، تحركاتٍ جماهيرية خارج القواعد العسكرية للولايات المتحدة وحلف شمال الأطلسي في كريت، و ثِساليِّا، وغرب اليونان، وغيرها من المناطق.
