Protest of the KKE and KNE at the Ukrainian Embassy in Athens

On 6 July 2023, a delegation of the KKE headed by MEP Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos, and members of KNE protested at the Ukrainian embassy in Athens and posted on its door a statement of protest regarding the constant death threats against the two young communists, Aleksander and Mikhail Kononovich.

The KKE’s statement of protest reads as follows:

"The Communist Party of Greece and the Communist Youth of Greece
warn for the threats against the lives of the young Ukrainian communists
Aleksander and Mikhail Kononovich 

In the midst of the escalation of the imperialist war in Ukraine between NATO and Russia, following the latter's unacceptable invasion of Ukrainian territory, the Ukrainian security authorities arrested and tortured the young communist Kononovich brothers on trumped-up charges.

After a parody of a trial and while an unacceptable anti-communist legislative framework has been imposed on the country by the reactionary Ukrainian governments, the two young communists have been sentenced to "house arrest", continuing the unacceptable political persecution against them.

In addition, there are increasing public allegations that the two young communists are receiving constant death threats from representatives of the state security services. Thus, the location of their residence is being leaked, with the result that nationalist and fascist circles, active police officers, are calling for their assassination through various websites, promising impunity to anyone who will carry it out.

We denounce the unacceptable threats against the lives of our Ukrainian comrades before the Greek people and the world public opinion. The Ukrainian state and the Zelenskiy administration have the main responsibility for protecting the lives and ensuring the rights of the Kononovich brothers, who are unjustly persecuted and currently being targeted, with the result that their lives are put in danger while they remain in “house arrest”.

We demand that the Ukrainian government:

• Should provide immediate guarantees for the protection of the lives and the safeguarding of the rights of our comrades, the Kononovich brothers, and should stop the political persecution against them;
• Should intervene immediately to stop the unacceptable threats against their lives;
• Should give assurances that the democratic rights and freedoms of communists in the country will be respected.

Акция протеста КПГ и КМГ у стен посольства Украины в Афинах

6 июля 2023 года делегация КПГ во главе с депутатом Европарламента Лефтерисом Николау-Алаваносом и члены КМГ провели  пикет  у посольства Украины в Афинах и приклеили на дверь посольства письмо протеста, адресованное властям Украины, в связи с продолжающимися угрозами жизни двух молодых коммунистов Александра и Михаила Кононовичей.

В письме протеста КПГ говорится:

"Коммунистическая партия Греции и Коммунистическая молодежь Греции

выражают тревогу за жизнь молодых украинских коммунистов

Александра и Михаила Кононовичей

В разгар империалистической войны на Украине между НАТО и Россией, начавшейся после неприемлемого вторжения последней на территорию Украины, молодые коммунисты братья Кононовичи были арестованы по сфабрикованным обвинениям и подвергнуты пыткам со стороны украинских сил безопасности. После пародийного судебного процесса в условиях навязанного реакционными украинскими правительствами неприемлемого антикоммунистического законодательства молодым коммунистам была назначена мера пресечения в виде домашнего ареста,  и недопустимое политическое преследование в отношении них продолжается.

Кроме того, поступают многочисленные обращения общественности по поводу исходящих от  представителей государственных служб безопасности постоянных угроз расправы над молодыми коммунистами. Так, они распространяют адрес их проживания, в результате чего националистические, фашистские круги, действующие работники полиции в интернете призывают к их убийству, обещая «безнаказанность» тем, кто это сделает.

Мы обращаемся к греческому народу и мировому общественному мнению, осуждая неприемлемые угрозы расправы над украинскими товарищами. Украинское государство и правительство Зеленского несут главную ответственность за обеспечение защиты жизни и прав братьев Кононовичей, которые подвергаются несправедливому преследованию и в настоящее время становятся мишенью, в результате их жизни угрожает опасность, хотя они находятся под домашним арестом.

            Мы требуем от правительства Украины:

• немедленно гарантировать защиту жизни и обеспечение прав наших товарищей - братьев Кононовичей, и прекратить политическое преследование в отношении них,
• немедленно вмешаться в ситуацию и пресечь неприемлемые террористические угрозы в их адрес,
• гарантировать уважение демократических прав и свобод коммунистов в стране.

Protesta del KKE y de la KNE en la Embajada de Ucrania en Atenas

El 6 de julio de 2023, una delegación del KKE encabezada por el eurodiputado Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos y cuadros de la KNE, manifestó delante la embajada de Ucrania en Atenas y pegó una carta de protesta en su puerta con respecto a las continuas amenazas contra la vida de los dos jóvenes comunistas, Alexander y Mijail Kononovich.

La carta de protesta del KKE fue la siguiente: 

"El Partido Comunista de Grecia y la Juventud Comunista de Grecia dan la alarma por la vida de los jóvenes comunistas ucranianos, Alexander y Mijail Kononovich. 

En medio de la escalada de la guerra imperialista en Ucrania, entre la OTAN y Rusia, tras la invasión inaceptable por parte de la última en territorio ucraniano, las autoridades de seguridad ucranianas bajo cargos falsos han detenido y torturado a los jóvenes comunistas hermanos Kononovich. Tras una parodia de proceso judicial y mientras en el país se ha impuesto un marco legislativo anticomunista inaceptable por los gobiernos ucranianos reaccionarios, se ha decidido con respecto a los dos jóvenes comunistas a condenarlos a “arresto domiciliario” continuando así la persecución política contra ellos.

Además, se están aumentando las denuncias públicas de que los dos jóvenes comunistas reciben continuamente amenazas contra sus vidas por funcionarios de los servicios estatales de seguridad. Así, han filtrado el lugar de su residencia, lo que dio lugar a que grupos nacionalistas, fascistas, policías en activo, a través de páginas web están llamando por su asesinato prometiendo ”impunidad” a quien lo haga.

Denunciamos ante el pueblo griego y la opinión pública mundial las amenazas inaceptables contra la vida de nuestros camaradas ucranianos. El Estado ucraniano y la administración de Zelenski son los principales responsables de proteger la vida y garantizar los derechos de los hermanos Kononovich, injustamente perseguidos y actualmente en el punto de mira, cuyas vidas corren peligro mientas están en “arresto domiciliario”.

Exigimos al gobierno ucraniano           

• que garantice ya la protección de la vida y que asegure los derechos de nuestros camaradas, los hermanos Kononovich, y que ponga fin a su persecución política.
• que intervenga inmediatamente para que se detengan las inaceptables amenazas de intimidación contra sus vidas.
• que aseguren el respeto de los derechos democráticos y las libertades de los comunistas en el país.

Protestation du KKE et de la KNE à l'Ambassade d'Ukraine à Athènes

Le 6 juillet 2023, une délégation du KKE dirigée par le député européen Lefteris Nikolaou - Alavanos et des membres de la KNE ont protesté devant l'Ambassade d'Ukraine à Athènes et ont affiché une lettre de protestation concernant les menaces de mort continues à l'encontre des deux jeunes communistes Aleksander et Mikhaïl Kononovich.

Le texte de la protestation du KKE est le suivant: 

"Le Parti Communiste de Grèce et la Jeunesse Communiste de Grèce

tirent la sonnette d'alarme pour la vie des jeunes communistes ukrainiens

Aleksander et Mikhaïl Kononovich 

En pleine escalade de la guerre impérialiste en Ukraine entre l'OTAN et la Russie, suite à l'invasion inacceptable des territoires ukrainiens par cette dernière, les autorités de sécurité de l'Ukraine ont arrêté et torturé les jeunes frères communistes Kononovich sur la base d'accusations forgées de toutes pièces. Après une procédure judiciaire-parodie et alors qu'un cadre législatif anticommuniste inacceptable est imposé au pays par les gouvernements réactionnaires ukrainiens, les deux jeunes communistes ont été condamnés à l'"assignation à résidence". Ainsi, la persécution politique inacceptable dont ils sont victimes se poursuit. 

En outre, de plus en plus de dénonciations publiques indiquent que les deux jeunes communistes sont constamment menacés de mort par des agents des services de sécurité de l'État. Ainsi, le lieu de leur résidence est divulgué, de sorte que des cercles nationalistes et fascistes, des officiers de police actifs, par le biais de sites Internet, appellent à leur assassinat, promettant "l'impunité" à quiconque le ferait. 

Nous dénonçons auprès du peuple grec et de l'opinion publique mondiale les menaces inacceptables contre la vie de nos camarades ukrainiens. L'État ukrainien et l'administration Zelensky sont les principaux responsables de la protection de la vie et de la garantie des droits des frères Kononovich, qui sont injustement persécutés et sont actuellement pris pour cible, ce qui met leur vie en danger. 

Nous demandons au gouvernement ukrainien de:

• Garantir la protection de la vie et le respect des droits de nos camarades, les frères Kononovich, et de mettre fin à la persécution politique à leur encontre.
• Intervenir immédiatement pour mettre fin aux menaces terroristes inacceptables contre leur vie.
• Garantir que les droits et libertés démocratiques des communistes dans le pays sont respectés.

احتجاج الحزب الشيوعي اليوناني و الشبيبة الشيوعية لدى السفارة الأوكرانية في أثينا

قام وفد للحزب الشيوعي اليوناني برئاسة النائب عن الحزب في البرلمان اﻷوروبي، لِفتيريس نيكولاو ألافانوس مع كوادر من الشبيبة الشيوعية بالاحتجاج يوم 6 تموز\يوليو 2023 لدى السفارة الأوكرانية في أثينا، و ألصقوا على باب السفارة  قراراً احتجاجياً بشأن التهديدات المتواصلة ضد حياة الشابين الشيوعيين ألكسندر وميخائيل كونونوفيتش.

هذا و كان نص احتجاج الحزب الشيوعي اليوناني كما يلي:

يدق الحزب الشيوعي اليوناني و الشبيبة الشيوعية اليونانية ناقوس الخطر بشأن حياة الشابين الشيوعيين الأوكرانيين، ألكساندر و ميخائيل  كونونوفيتش

في خضم تصعيد الحرب الإمبريالية في أوكرانيا بين الناتو وروسيا، بعد غزو اﻷخيرة غير المقبول للأراضي الأوكرانية، ألقي القبض بتهم ملفقة على الأخوين الشيوعيين الشابين، كونونوفيتش وعُذبا من قبل سلطات الأمن الأوكرانية.

و بعد مهزلة محاكمتهما في وقت فرض إطار تشريعي غير مقبول مناهض للشيوعية على البلاد من قبل الحكومات الرجعية الأوكرانية، تقرر الحُكم على الشابين الشيوعيين بـ "الإقامة الجبرية" استمراراً للملاحقة السياسية غير المقبولة بحقهما.

و بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تزداد شكاوى عامة عن تلقي الشابين الشيوعيين تهديدات مستمرة ضد حياتهما من قبل ممثلي أجهزة أمن الدولة. وعلى هذا النحو، يقوم هؤلاء بتسريب عنوان إقامة الشابين، مما أدى إلى توجيه الدوائر القومية والفاشية وضباط الشرطة الناشطين عبر مواقع الإنترنت دعوات إلى قتلهما، مع وعدهم من سيرتكب ذلك بالإفلات من العقاب.

 إننا نشكو نحو الشعب اليوناني والرأي العام العالمي المسؤوليات الهائلة التي تتحملها الدولة الأوكرانية وحكومة زيلينسكي تجاه حماية حياة رفيقينا الأوكرانيين وضمان حقوقهما، و هما اللذان يتعرضان للاضطهاد ظلما أثناء بقائهم في "الإقامة الجبرية”، مما ينتج وجود  خطر على حياتهما.

إننا نطالب الحكومة الأوكرانية ﺒ:

• منح ضمانات فورية لحماية حياة رفيقينا الأخوين كونونوفيتش وضمان حقوقهما ووقف الملاحقة السياسية الجارية بحقهما،
• التدخل الفوري لوقف التهديدات الإرهابية غير المقبولة ضد حياتهما،
• تقديم تأكيدات باحترام حقوق شيوعيي البلاد و حرياتهم الديمقراطية.
