Students flooded the streets of Athens demanding public and free universities

On Thursday 8/2/24, tens of thousands of students, who flooded the centre of Athens holding a mass nationwide student rally, showed the strength of the youth, who dare and fight against the bill on private universities, demanding public and free universities.

As stressed by the Press Office of the Central Council of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), university and school students, together with their teachers, “gave a strong response to the lies of the government that accompany this bill, but also to its attempt to slander, intimidate and suppress the student movement. The policy of the government and the EU, with the establishment of private universities and the further commercialization of education, has been met with the universal rejection of the youth! All that remains to do is to withdraw the bill and pay attention to the just demands of students for an increase in state funding for universities, for a substantial improvement of their studies, with safe and adequate infrastructure and teachers, free textbooks, the provision of meals,  accommodation and transport, degrees that matter and not degrees that come with a price tag, and work with rights. Those who ignore them, misinterpret or distort the message that was heard today by thousands of voices will make a huge mistake. The struggle continues! The just struggle of the students will be victorious!”

The MPs of the KKE attended the rally and stood by the students’ side.

Массовые студенческие акции в защиту государственного и бесплатного высшего образования

В четверг, 8 февраля, десятки тысяч студентов, наводнивших центр Афин на грандиозном общенациональном студенческом митинге, продемонстрировали силу молодежи, которая осмеливается бороться против закона о частных университетах, выступая в защиту государственного и бесплатного высшего образования.

Как отмечает пресс-служба Центрального совета Коммунистической молодежи Греции (КМГ), студенты, школьники и преподаватели «дали ответ на ложь правительства, с помощью которой оно проталкивает свой законопроект, а также на его попытку оклеветать, запугать и подавить студенческое движение. Политика правительства и ЕС по созданию частных университетов и дальнейшей коммерциализации образования встретила всеобщее неприятие молодежи! Ему остается только отозвать законопроект и прислушаться к справедливым требованиям студентов об увеличении государственного финансирования вузов, о существенном повышении качества образования, о безопасной, достаточной инфраструктуре и надлежащем профессорско-преподавательском составе, бесплатных учебниках, бесплатном питании, проживании и передвижении студентов, о получении достойных дипломов, а не дипломов по прейскуранту. Те, кто проигнорирует, неправильно истолкует или исказит послание тысяч протестующих, совершат очень большую ошибку. Борьба продолжается! Правота студентов победит!».

В митинге приняли участие депутаты КПГ.

Un mar de estudiantes manifiestapor una universidad pública y gratuita

El jueves 8 de febrero, decenas de miles de estudiantes universitarios inundaron el centro de Atenas, en la gran manifestación estudiantil nacional mostrando la fuerza de los jóvenes que se atreven a luchar contra la ley de universidades privadas, reclamando universidades públicas y estudios gratuitos.

La Oficina de Prensa del Consejo Central de la Juventud Comunista de Grecia, destaca que estudiantes universitarios y secundarios y profesores “Han dado una respuesta indiscutible a las mentiras del gobierno que las utiliza para promocionar su proyecto de ley, así como a su intento de calumniar, intimidar y reprimir al movimiento estudiantil. La política del gobierno y de la UE, con la creación de universidades privadas y la mayor comercialización de la Educación, ha sido rechazada por el conjunto de los jóvenes. Lo único que queda por hacer es retirar el proyecto de ley y escuchar las demandas justas de los estudiantes para el aumento de la financiación de las universidades, para la mejora sustancial de sus estudios, con infraestructura adecuada y segura, con personal docente suficiente, con libros, alimentación, alojamiento y transporte públicos y gratuitos, con títulos de estudios con valor y trabajo con derechos; no títulos de estudios de un listado de precios. Será un error muy grande si ignoran, malinterpretan o distorsionan el mensaje que han enviado hoy miles de personas. ¡La lucha continúa! ¡Las justas demandas de los estudiantes vencerán!”

Del lado de los manifestantes se encontraron los diputados del KKE.

Une marée humaine d’étudiants pour défendre l’université publique et gratuite

Le jeudi 8/2/24, des dizaines de milliers d'étudiant(e)s, qui ont envahi le centre d'Athènes, dans le cadre du grand rassemblement étudiant national, ont montré le pouvoir de la jeunesse, qui se bat bravement contre la loi sur les universités privées, en demandant des universités publiques et gratuites.

Comme l'indique le Bureau de Presse du Conseil Central de la Jeunesse Communiste de Grèce (KNE), des étudiants, des élèves et des enseignants "ont donné une réponse énergique aux mensonges que le gouvernement utilise pour embellir son projet de loi, mais aussi à sa tentative de calomnier, terroriser et supprimer le mouvement étudiant. La politique du gouvernement et de l'UE, dictant la création des universités privées et une commercialisation accrue de l'enseignement s'est heurtée au rejet global de la jeunesse! La seule chose qui reste à faire est de retirer le projet de loi et d'écouter les demandes des étudiants pour une augmentation du financement de l'État pour les universités, une mise à niveau essentielle des programmes d'études avec des infrastructures sûres et adéquates et avec des professeurs, des manuels gratuits, de l’alimentation, du logement et du transport, des diplômes dignes qui garantissent des emplois avec des droits et  non des diplômes à la carte.  Ils commettront une très grosse erreur s'ils  ignorent, mal interpréter ou déformer  le message entendu aujourd'hui par des milliers de voix. La lutte continue! La juste cause des étudiants gagnera!"

Des députés du KKE ont participé à la manifestation aux côtés des étudiants.

طوفان عالم طلابي من أجل جامعة عامة ومجانية

أظهر أظهر عشرات الآلاف من الطلاب، الذين غمروا مركز أثينا يوم الخميس 8\2\2024 عبر إقامة مظاهرة طلابية كبيرة شاركت بها قوى من كل البلاد، مدى قوة الشباب الذين يتجرؤون و يكافحون ضد قانون إنشاء جامعات خاصة، مطالبين بمؤسسات تعليم عالٍ مجانية و عامة.

وكما يشير المكتب الإعلامي للمجلس المركزي للشبيبة الشيوعية اليونانية، في بيان له، فإن الطلاب والتلاميذ والتربويينَ

«قدموا رداً مُخرِّساً لأكاذيب الحكومة، التي تقدِّمُ عبرها مشروع قانونها، ولكن أيضاً ضد على محاولتها للإفتراء على الحركة الطلابية و ترويعها وقمعها. إن سياسة الحكومة والاتحاد الأوروبي، المتمثلة في إنشاء جامعات خاصة ومواصلة تسليع التعليم، قوبلت برفض شاملٍ من جانب الشباب! كل ما تبقى لها هو أن تسحب مشروع القانون و أن تُصغي إلى مطالب الطلاب العادلة  لزيادة تمويل الدولة للجامعات، من أجل ترقية جوهرية لمستوى دراساتهم، مع بنى تحتية آمنة وكافية وأساتذة وكتب دراسية مجانية، و إطعامٍ وسكن و نقل، و شهادات جامعية ذات قيمة من أجل عمل مع حقوق، لا من أجل شهادات وفق قوائم أسعار معروضة. إن من يتجاهل أو يسيء تفسير أو يشوه الرسالة التي هتفت بها اليوم آلاف الأصوات، يقوم بارتكاب خطأ كبير جداً. إن النضال مستمر! و سينتصر حقُّ الطلاب!».

هذا و كان نواب للحزب الشيوعي اليوناني قد تواجدوا إلى جانب المتظاهرين.
