October Revolution: For Ever a Guiding Force

 

Communist Party of India national council secretary Amarjeet Kaur said that the Great October Socialist Revolution that gave birth to the first socialist state in the world in 1917 in Russia remains even today as the guiding force all over the world behind all the forces that are fighting to get liberated from all kinds of exploitation. She was addressing a gathering of party comrades in party’s national headquarters, Ajoy Bhavan, on November 7, 2022, marking the 105th anniversary of Great October Socialist Revolution.

The programme was conducted by party national council secretary Pallab Sengupta.

Amarjeet Kaur said that the Soviet Russia helped in the expansion of Marxist ideals all over the world strengthening the revolutionary forces. It was a time when the working class was moving towards a struggle to end the exploitation of man by man. It was also to ensure the basics like education, employment, and healthy life for all.

The revolution led by V I Lenin extended its support to liberation movements all over the world. Even our freedom struggle got the full support of Lenin and that of the first socialist state, she said. Recalling that the first decree announced by Lenin which was one on Peace, she pointed out that this has special significance today when the world is facing war threats from imperialist forces.

She also stressed on the democratic values that are to be secured while the masses move on towards the final goal.

Summing up, she urged the comrades to ensure that Modi government which is pushing the country towards fascism is ousted from power in the 2024 general elections, as was decided in the just concluded 24th CPI Party Congress.

The programme began with the hoisting of Party Flag by Amarjeet Kaur amidst continuous slogan-raising by comrades. Pallab Sengupta and she also garlanded the statue of Lenin.
