1. From the outset, we have maintained that the change of power in Syria—aside from other factors—directly aligns with Israel’s plans and interests. Naturally, the rivalries and contradictions among the forces that demanded and facilitated this change must be acknowledged. However, sometimes these internal disputes become mere details and lose significance. Ultimately, in Syria, Israel, the UK, and the US have emerged victorious. Shara serves as their appointed governor of Damascus.

2. Those who claim that “Turkey has won” in Syria are only correct if by “Turkey” they mean the profits of construction, energy, weapons, textile, food, and similar corporations. But if we consider the interests of the vast majority of Turkish citizens, Turkey has clearly lost in Syria.

3. It is evident that what the US and Israel have brought to this region is nothing but plunder, looting, occupation, war, and massacre. To be complicit or assist in the operations of these two countries is undeniably a crime against humanity.

4. Tragically, but in line with capitalism’s nature, even as US imperialism weakens, it still manages to make many countries compete for “friendship” and “cooperation” with itself. Seeking a larger share of the US-controlled economy, attempting to evade its blackmail and threats through ill-fated collaborations, and securing safety by redirecting US hostility toward others has become almost a standard rule in international relations.

5. The AKP government’s calculation—that breaking Iran’s influence in the region and Syria will open a path for Turkey—may hold some logic. Yet the price demanded by the US-Israel duo, which now claims the freedom to wage war anywhere and ignores all rules on borders and maps, along with their allied forces, to “leave Turkey alone” will be deadly for our people.

6. Aligning with the US, cooperating with it, and calculating the supposed benefits of such cooperation is nothing but tasting poisonous fruit. When Israel attacked our neighbor Iran yesterday, behind it stood US intelligence, logistics, weaponry, and diplomacy. But which countries cooperated with the US thousands of kilometers away to provide this support? Turkey was not admitted to NATO by chance; İncirlik, Kürecik, and other bases were not established for show; and statements like “we get along very well” are not made without reason.

7. There is no alternative but to question the current exploitative order, based on “private interests,” that aims to pull Turkey away from the US, UK, and NATO axis. There is no good capitalism; without fighting capitalism, one cannot be genuinely anti-imperialist.

8. This is precisely what has encouraged the Israel-US aggression that has unleashed devastation across the region for years. Everyone knows that the recent US moves and Israel’s attack on Iran aim to weaken and isolate China, their principal rival. So why do the so-called “new rising alliance” or the countries of the “Global South” fail to act together in response?

9. The answer cannot simply be “they want to avoid a major war.” Are there alternatives to war? Certainly. But the laws of capitalism do not allow it. Recent years’ wars, invasions, and regime changes—mostly driven by US imperialism—have, regardless of their outcomes, expanded China’s economic influence in these countries and regions. Regardless of a country’s regime or foreign policy record, developing economic relations may be considered a “peaceful” foreign policy choice. But in the imperialist world, competition inevitably breeds conflict, so peace is essentially absent. US imperialism, with or without Trump, has sought to halt the momentum working in China’s favor—and it is doing so now. Trump’s recurring question, “Are we fools?” reflects this reality.

10. So why is there no firm stance against Israel while the US executes these bloody operations? This question demands a thorough answer. Let us consider just one aspect: yes, Iran is crucial for Russia and China, but Israel—and the globally spread Jewish capital—is also significant for them. Although China’s relations with Israel have deteriorated due to events in Gaza, strategic economic ties still exist between the two. The same applies to Russia. Recall that during the Ukraine war, the US allowed its favored Israel not to participate in sanctions against Russia.

11. When Israel began striking Iran, the meaningless condemnations and mere calls for dialogue reflect these complicated ties. India, a key BRICS member, maintains deep relations with both the US and Israel.

12. I share all this to explain that a principled resistance from within the system against US imperialism and Israeli Zionism cannot emerge, and when everyone forms their own alliance system and dares to face a major war, it will benefit humanity in no way. And as for who stands where in those alliances, no one should speak too confidently.

13. Imperialism is a global system dominated by multinational monopolies. It is characterized by competition, conflict, plunder, deep exploitation, and war. In this environment, the victims and losers are always the oppressed. Unless the working people rise up and fight for themselves—unless they embrace solidarity instead of infighting—justice, morality, principles, and revolutionary ideals should not be expected from the states that represent the rule of these multinational monopolies.
