Brochure: War in Syria

The International Relations Bureau of TKP released a brochure reviewing the past 8 years of war in Syria, from the beginning of the so-called Arab Spring, evaluation of AKP's Neo-Ottonmanism as a foreign policy instrument as well as a domestic one, the relations with the Kurdish political movement, and some future projections.

Resisting students win struggle at Istanbul University

The raise in cafeteria prices at Istanbul University has been receded after the reactions and protests of the students.

The determined struggle of the students received lots of support from public opinion and also from many of intelligentsia. The struggle ended in a gain with an announcement by the school administration on social media, announcing the cancellation of the price increase.

Communist Youth of Turkey (TKG) who has been calling out to the students to mobilize against to raise, has made a statement.

"As the Communist Youth of Turkey, we denounce once more: Winning the cafeterias, the dorms, the student loans are not enough, we will win our future! We will cleanse our country of the exploiters, of the enemy of the people.

Today in Istanbul University, tomorrow in the whole country. The winnersWwill be the youth that struggles.”


Report on Unemployment Insurance Fund

TKP Labour Centre prepared a report on the Unemployment Insurance Fund, which was established in 1999. The report emphasized that the Fund has moved away from its initial purpose and it has become a beneficial Fund for the bosses rather than the unemployed.

Only 13 percent of the unemployed benefit from the Fund, the report says. Furthermore, the working class has no say in the management of the Fund.



Embroidery workers in Turkey's İzmir fighting for their rights

Embroidery workers, who worked for Çelik Nakış factory with a total of approximately 130 workers located in Turkey’s western province of Izmir, have been destitute of their rights following the embroidery division of the factory was shut down by the employer in August 2019.

the embroidery workers contacted the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP)’s "We Breathe Down Bosses’ Neck" (PE) solidarity, communication, and struggle network, and decided to fight together with the PE against the capitalist exploiters of Çelik Nakış factory until they get their rights.




TKP General Secretary Okuyan: Iran hit US with "smart" missiles

Kemal Okuyan, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) writes daily for the soL news portal. He wrote on the recent developments amidst Iran’s missile attacks on the US bases in Iraq following the assassination of Iranian General Suleimani.

"...We cannot make any good evaluation without understanding that the US needs Trump at the moment. The US is losing power. This period started long before Trump; and indeed, Trump is trying to stop, or rather manage, this phase. It is out of the question for the US to return to its hegemony 30 years ago. As we have put forth for years, however, there is no country to replace the US. Therefore, the imperialist world is witnessing limited fights, escalations, and conflicts that delay an extensive war of distribution.

However, these limited fights cannot discharge the energy; contrarily, the contradictions are getting deeper..."
