TKP is 104 years old today…

The beginning of the struggle for independence against the imperialist occupation and the collaborator sultanate in these lands and the foundation of our party are two critical developments of the same historical period. 

Just as the victory of the war of independence and the establishment of the Republic was a step forward, our comrades who founded the TKP acted with a strong will and claim to ensure social emancipation, which is the only condition for this victory to become permanent. 

The Republic to be established could have real guarantees by ensuring equality and the elimination of exploitation. 

This is the historical claim of Mustafa Suphi and his comrades… The victory won through the struggle for independence could only have permanent results with building of an equal and free Republic without exploitation. 

This claim, which the TKP raised 104 years ago, is still up to date. Today, the Republic, which was destroyed by the imperialism, the capitalist class of this country and the reactionary organizations which were fostered to make the rules of the market unquestionable, cannot be rebuilt in any other way. Our country cannot rise up in any other way.

The capitalist system that transfers Turkey’s  resources to a handful of capitalists is the real cause of our problems. The interests of the bourgeoisie and its endless greed for profit is a tight shackle on Turkey. 

We cannot build a safe and beautiful future in our country without destroying this reign of holdings that plunder the resources of our country and impoverish our people. 

We will not compromise, delay or be patient. We have no choice but to fight for a socialist republic where exploitation is abolished. 

We will fight reactionism, the sects that darken the lives of our children, and those who benefit from this robbery order. 

We will get rid of those who are trying to put a straitjacket on Turkey so that the bosses’ coffers continue to fill up. 

We will expel NATO from these lands who want to drag our country into war. 

TKP calls on us to stand arm in arm to free our country from its shackles, to change the conditions in which darkness prevails and poverty deepens. 

TKP calls on our working people to change this system that decays, impoverishes and makes us ashamed of our humanity, and to establish a new and strong Republic. 

There is a party that will change this country. Let’s change this so-called unchangeable life together and build the days we all deserve, where we will live equally and freely.
