Christmas without imprisoned workers 

The PCV criticized the call for "Merry Christmas" made once again by the Government, "as if a decree of happiness could be enough to cover up the situation that the oppressed majorities in our country are going through".

"A situation characterized by the destruction of salaries and pensions; by the fractioned payment of Christmas bonuses that -in addition- are calculated with incomes that have been frozen for more than a year", explained Andrade.

"The government of Nicolás Maduro is approaching a policy of zero salary for workers and this is resented, in moments as significant as the end of the year, in the homes of the popular sectors in our country", she added.

Andrade informed that for the third consecutive year, the Communist Party of Venezuela will be part of the national campaign Christmas without workers and without imprisoned workers; an initiative promoted by the Committee of Relatives and Friends of the unjustly imprisoned workers.

"The PCV is once again taking part in this initiative to demand full freedom for the cases of workers who have been detained for fighting for their demands: for demanding better wage conditions; for denouncing corruption in their workplaces. Workers who have been used as scapegoats for the real corrupt who have plundered and continue to plunder key industries of our country", argued the leader. 

Andrade cited the most recent cases of Leonardo Azócar and Daniel Romero, arrested this year after leading massive protests of the steel industry in the south of the country.

"The PSUV government tries to neutralize at all costs the struggles of the Venezuelan working class; it tries to silence them and persecution has been the mechanism par excellence it has used for that purpose," she denounced.

The PCV announced its adhesion to the call of the Labor and Trade Union Movement that has made a call for a national mobilization scheduled for this Thursday, November 9, with the objective of demanding the indexation of salaries and pensions to the basic basket of goods.

"This is a day in front of the Ministry and the labor inspectorates to also demand respect for the right of workers to organize and the restitution of the rights that have been violated by a policy aimed at cutting off conquests historically achieved by the Venezuelan working class", she added.

Central Committee of the PCV to discuss the call for a referendum on the Essequibo 

This Saturday, November 11, the VII Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the PCV will be held. This is the first session after having successfully held the XVI National Conference a few weeks ago.

"The Conference gave the mandate to the Central Committee to continue exploring, working and strengthening alliances within the framework of a situation characterized by the illegalization of our party, with the objective of being able to build a candidacy that comes from the popular movement. And this Plenary of the Central Committee is going to work on these efforts: on the necessary actions to give course to this mandate in a context of harassment against our organization", she detailed.

The VII plenary session of the Central Committee will also debate the call for a referendum on the Essequibo territory, Andrade announced.

"We do not want to anticipate the conclusions that this plenary will have, but we do want to express the concern that we have from the leadership of the Communist Party about practices being implemented by the bourgeois governments of Venezuela, Guyana and the United States to stir up contradictions that only favor transnational capital". 

"Let us not lose sight of the fact that Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell and other transnational corporations have their eyes on the natural resources that are in our country and in the disputed zones; and that there are speeches that dangerously exacerbate contradictions that are only going to be beneficial to fill the pockets of the capitalists," said the communist leader.

Navidad sin trabajadores presos 

El PCV criticó el llamado a “Navidades felices” que ha hecho una vez más el Gobierno, “como si un decreto de felicidad pudiera ser suficiente para encubrir la situación que atraviesan las mayorías oprimidas en nuestro país”.

“Una situación que se caracteriza por la destrucción de los salarios y las pensiones; por el pago fraccionado de los aguinaldos que -además- son calculados con ingresos que han sido congelados desde hace más de un año”, explicó Andrade.

“El gobierno de Nicolás Maduro se acerca a una política de salario cero para los trabajadores y las trabajadoras y eso se resiente, en momentos tan significativos como el fin de año, en los hogares de los sectores populares en nuestro país”, agregó.

Andrade informó que por tercer año consecutivo, el Partido Comunista de Venezuela se hará parte de la campaña nacional Navidad sin trabajadores y sin trabajadores presos; una iniciativa que impulsa el Comité de Familiares y Amigos de las y los trabajadores injustamente encarcelados.

“El PCV se hace nuevamente parte de esta iniciativa para exigir que haya libertad plena para los casos de las trabajadoras y los trabajadores que han sido detenidos por luchar por sus reivindicaciones: por exigir mejores condiciones de salario; por denunciar corrupción en sus centros de trabajo. Trabajadores que han sido utilizados como chivos expiatorios de los verdaderos corruptos que han saqueado y continúan saqueando industrias claves de nuestro país”, argumentó la dirigente.

Andrade citó los casos más recientes de Leonardo Azócar y Daniel Romero, detenidos este año tras liderar masivas protestas de la industria siderúrgica en el sur del país.

“El gobierno del PSUV trata de neutralizar a toda costa las luchas de la clase obrera venezolana; trata de silenciarlos y la judicialización ha sido el mecanismo por excelencia que ha empleado para ello”, denunció.

El PCV anunció su adhesión a la convocatoria del Movimiento Obrero y Sindical que ha hecho un llamado a una jornada nacional de movilización prevista para este jueves 09 de noviembre con el objetivo de reclamar indexación de salarios y pensiones a la canasta básica. 

“Se trata de una jornada ante el ministerio y las inspectorías del trabajo para también exigir respeto al derecho de los trabajadores y las trabajadoras a organizarse y la restitución de los derechos que han sido conculcados por una política dirigida a cercenar conquistas que históricamente ha logrado la clase trabajadora venezolana”, agregó.

Comité Central del PCV debatirá convocatoria a referéndum sobre el Esequibo  

Este sábado 11 de noviembre sesionará el VII pleno del Comité Central del PCV. Se trata de la primera sesión que tras haber realizado exitosamente hace pocas semanas la XVI Conferencia Nacional.

“La Conferencia dio el mandato al Comité Central de seguir explorando, trabajando y fortaleciendo alianzas en el marco de una situación que está caracterizada por la ilegalización de nuestro partido, con el objetivo de poder construir una candidatura que provenga del movimiento popular. Y en esos esfuerzos va a trabajar este Pleno del Comité Central: en las acciones necesarias para darle curso a este mandato en un contexto de hostigamiento contra nuestra organización”, detalló.

El VII pleno del Comité Central también va a debatir sobre el llamado a referéndum sobre el territorio Esequibo, anunció Andrade.

“No queremos adelantarnos a las conclusiones que tendrá ese pleno pero sí queremos manifestar la preocupación que tenemos desde la dirección del Partido Comunista sobre prácticas que están implementando los gobiernos burgueses de Venezuela, Guyana y Estados Unidos para atizar contradicciones que solo favorecen al capital transnacional”.

“No perdamos de vista que Chevron, ExxonMobil, la Shell y otras corporaciones transnacionales tienen la mirada puesta sobre los recursos naturales que están en nuestro país y en las zonas en disputa; y que hay discursos que peligrosamente exacerban contradicciones que solamente van a ser beneficiosas para llenar los bolsillos de los capitalistas”, dijo la dirigente comunista.
