Tribuna Popular— The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), through its member Neirlay Andrade, condemned on Monday both the recent interventionist threats by the US government against Venezuela and the intensification of repression against the popular movement and the revolutionary left in the country.

In relation to the US announcement to increase rewards for information on senior leaders of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the PCV categorically rejected “these interventionist maneuvers that in no way contribute to resolving the acute political crisis our country is going through” and warned that such measures add to “the criminal sanctions that have only worsened the living conditions of the working people.”

“US imperialism continues to act as the world's police, paving the way for interventions that have already had dire consequences in Latin America and other regions,” said Andrade, who called on the Venezuelan people “not to believe in siren songs” or trust that foreign interference can restore the rule of law in the country.

The PCV also warned that these announcements from Washington are being used to justify the “repressive offensive by Nicolás Maduro's administration against the popular, workers' and revolutionary movement.”

Reports of attacks and arbitrary detentions 

The communist leader condemned “the cowardly attack” that took place on Tuesday, August 5, against a peaceful vigil held by the Committee of Mothers in Defense of the Truth outside the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ). The attack was carried out by para-police groups after security forces withdrew from the site.

“As if this were not enough, these humble women were not only beaten and robbed, but the state refused to accept their complaints about this aggression,” Andrade explained.

The PCV expressed its full solidarity with this committee and demanded the release of young people, students, workers, social and union leaders, journalists, and human rights defenders who have been arbitrarily detained since the presidential elections.

Andrade also referred to the case of human rights defender Martha Lía Grajales, a member of the Surgentes collective and promoter of the Mothers' Committee, who was arbitrarily detained on August 8 after an event at the UN headquarters in Caracas.

Grajales remained missing for 48 hours and was charged with alleged conspiracy. The PCV described this case as “an example of the state of terror” that Nicolás Maduro's administration seeks to sow “to neutralize the legitimate demands of the Venezuelan popular movement.”

The leadership of the Venezuelan communists also joined the request for safe conduct for lawyer María Alejandra Díaz, who has been in asylum at the Colombian embassy in Caracas for more than six months.

“Let us remember that María Alejandra Díaz resolutely followed the institutional and democratic route to demand the presentation of the presidential election results broken down by polling station and voting center, as required by law. She was stripped of her right to practice her profession, her family was harassed, and she was forced to seek asylum in the sister Republic of Colombia,” Andrade explained.

Judicial assault against the PCV

Andrade recalled that August 11 marks two years since the judicial assault against the PCV, through which its acronym and symbols were handed over to PSUV political operators under a process “without legal basis, without the right to defense, and without a public sentence.”

“We Venezuelan communists will not lower our flag; we will not back down in our defense of the historic Communist Party of Venezuela, the vanguard organization of the working class of our country,” said the spokesperson.

Call to mobilize

The PCV announced its support for the call by various political, social, and union organizations to mobilize this Thursday, August 14, in front of the Ombudsman's Office in Caracas, under the slogans: Stop repression, restore the rule of law, and comply with the Constitution.

PCV rechaza injerencia de Estados Unidos y denuncia escalada represiva contra el movimiento popular y la izquierda

Tribuna Popular— El Buró Político del Comité Central del Partido Comunista de Venezuela (PCV), a través de su integrante Neirlay Andrade, condenó este lunes tanto las recientes amenazas injerencistas del gobierno de Estados Unidos contra Venezuela, así como el recrudecimiento de la represión contra el movimiento popular y la izquierda revolucionaria en el país.

En relación con el anuncio estadounidense de aumentar las recompensas por información sobre altos dirigentes del Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV), el PCV rechazó categórico «estas maniobras injerencistas que en nada contribuyen a resolver la aguda crisis política que atraviesa nuestro país» y advirtió que tales medidas se suman a «las criminales sanciones que solo han agravado las condiciones de vida del pueblo trabajador».

«El imperialismo estadounidense sigue actuando como policía del mundo, preparando el terreno para intervenciones que ya han tenido consecuencias nefastas en América Latina y otras regiones», señaló Andrade, quien llamó al pueblo venezolano a «no creer en cantos de sirena» ni confiar en que la injerencia extranjera pueda restituir el Estado de derecho en el país.

El PCV también alertó que estos anuncios de Washington son utilizados como justificación para la «ofensiva represiva de la administración de Nicolás Maduro contra el movimiento popular, obrero y revolucionario».

Denuncias de agresiones y detenciones arbitrarias

La dirigente comunista condenó «la cobarde agresión» que ocurrió el pasado martes 5 de agosto contra una vigilia pacífica que desarrollaba el Comité de Madres en Defensa de la Verdad a las afueras del Tribunal Supremo de Justicia (TSJ). El ataque fue perpetrada por grupos parapoliciales tras el retiro de las fuerzas de seguridad del sitio.

«Por si esto fuera poco, a estas mujeres humildes no solo las golpearon y robaron, sino que el Estado se negó a recibir las denuncias de esta agresión», detalló Andrade.

El PCV expresó su plena solidaridad con este comité y exigió la liberación de jóvenes, estudiantes, trabajadores, dirigentes sociales, sindicales, periodistas y defensores de derechos humanos detenidos arbitrariamente desde las elecciones presidenciales.

Andrade también se refirió al caso de la defensora de derechos humanos Martha Lía Grajales, integrante del colectivo Surgentes y promotora del Comité de Madres, detenida arbitrariamente el pasado 8 de agosto tras un acto en la sede de la ONU en Caracas.

Grajales permaneció 48 horas desaparecida y fue imputada por supuesta conspiración. El PCV calificó este caso como «una muestra del estado de terror» que busca sembrar la admisnitración de Nicolás Maduro «para neutralizar los legítimos reclamos del movimiento popular venezolano».

La dirección de las y los comunistas venezolanos además, se unió a la solicitud de salvoconducto para la abogada María Alejandra Díaz, asilada en la embajada de Colombia en Caracas desde hace más de seis meses.

«Recordemos que María Alejandra Díaz acompañó decididamente la ruta institucional y democrática para exigir la presentación de los resultados de las elecciones presidenciales desagregados por mesa y por centro de votación como mandata la ley; fue despojada del ejercicio de su profesión; su familia hostigada; y se vio obligada a solicitar el asilo a la hermana República de Colombia», explicó Andrade.

Asalto judicial contra el PCV

Andrade recordó que este 11 de agosto se cumplen dos años del asalto judicial contra el PCV, mediante el cual sus siglas y símbolos fueron entregados a operadores políticos del PSUV bajo un proceso «sin fundamento legal, sin derecho a la defensa y sin sentencia pública».

«Las comunistas y los comunistas venezolanos no vamos a bajar la bandera; no vamos a retroceder en la defensa del histórico Partido Comunista de Venezuela, la organización de vanguardia de la clase trabajadora de nuestro país», afirmó la vocera.

Llamado a movilización

El PCV anunció su adhesión a la convocatoria de diversas organizaciones políticas, sociales y sindicales para movilizarse este jueves 14 de agosto frente a la Defensoría del Pueblo en Caracas, bajo las consignas: Basta de represión, restitución del Estado de derecho y cumplimiento de la Constitución.
