CP of the Workers of Spain, Presence of the PCTE in the Regional Elections in Catalonia

On February 14 elections will be held in Catalonia, one of the most important regions in Spain, where a few years ago a secessionist project was developed by part of the local middle bourgeois class.

The State establishes restrictive criteria to be able to present to the elections. Those criteria have always been denounced by our party. The main difficulty is the collection of 7000 endorsements by the Party in two weeks. This difficulty grew up this year as this period overlapped with Christmas holidays, the very adverse climatic conditions, and especially the virus, confinements and restrictions to public activity.

The PCTE is proud to announce that our party in Catalonia (under the acronym PCTC) is the first Communist Party able to overcome the restrictions to participate in the elections since these ones came into force eleven years ago. The PCTE could overcome the barriers imposed in the four Catalan constituencies (Barcelona, Tarragona, Girona and Lleida). After many years away from the electoral struggle in this region, the hammer and sickle and the communist program will be present again only and exclusively under the acronym of the PCTC. For our party this is a proof of the humble but steady progress of our project.
