On the new wave of wildfires razing thousands of hectares in several Autonomous Communities, the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain wants first to convey its condolences to the families and friends of the deceased people as well as its full support and solidarity with both the displaced people and the workers and volunteers that are carrying out extinction works under very harsh conditions. 

The PCTE considers that the key element easing the ferociousness of the current wildfires is the lack of planning and the absolute neglection of the different administrations. Even though they presume to pursue “green policies”, they continue to let the wilderness burn every year while they maintain miserable and precarious labor conditions for those who fight the wildfires.

The different Governments —both autonomous and central ones— will play the game of mutual accusation on the consequences of these natural disasters, as we have already witnessed in cases like the DANA. They will put their party interests before the interests of the families whose environment and livelihood are being destroyed. However, the problem is going to remain present and will more and more violently manifest itself.

The consequences of natural and climatic disasters depend on the policies and interests of capitalists and their political managers. At best, cosmetic measures will be adopted after this catastrophe, although they will not solve the problems of wilderness neglection, depopulation of rural areas, lack of units against wildfires throughout the year,  and the necessary improvement of labor conditions for forest firefighters and the other workers in the sector.

The rage and the frustration arising in these moments must turn against the political responsibles and transform into an organized force for the overthrow of the capitalism they are managing.

 Ante la nueva ola de incendios forestales

Ante la oleada de incendios forestales que está arrasando miles de hectáreas en varias Comunidades Autónomas, el Buró Político del Partido Comunista de los Trabajadores de España quiere, en primer lugar, trasladar sus condolencias a las familias y allegados de las personas fallecidas y su pleno apoyo y solidaridad tanto a las personas desplazadas como a los trabajadores y voluntarios que están desarrollando labores de extinción en unas muy difíciles condiciones.

El PCTE considera que el elemento fundamental que facilita la ferocidad de los actuales incendios es la falta de planificación y la absoluta dejadez de las distintas administraciones, que presumen de llevar a cabo “políticas verdes” pero año tras año continúan dejando que ardan los montes mientras mantienen en condiciones laborales de miseria y precariedad a quienes luchan contra los incendios.

Los distintos gobiernos, autonómicos y central, jugarán a acusarse mutuamente de las consecuencias de estos desastres naturales, como ya hemos comprobado en casos como el de la DANA, anteponiendo sus intereses partidistas a los de las familias que están viendo destrozado su entorno y sus medios de vida, pero el problema va a seguir presente y manifestándose cada vez con más violencia. 

Las consecuencias de los desastres naturales y climáticos dependen de las políticas e intereses de los capitalistas y sus gestores políticos. Como mucho, tras esta catástrofe adoptarán medidas cosméticas que no solucionarán el problema de la desatención de los montes, de la despoblación de las zonas rurales, de la ausencia de dispositivos anti-incendios a lo largo de todo el año y de la necesaria mejora de las condiciones laborales de los bomberos forestales y resto de trabajadores del sector.

La rabia y la frustración que surgen en estos momentos deben volverse contra los responsables políticos, transformándose en fuerza organizada para el derrocamiento del capitalismo que gestionan.
