International Meeting of the Communist and Workers Parties 2021

Fraternal greetings to the comrades of all fraternal Parities of the International Communist Movement.

Dear Comrades,

As we entered the third decade of the 21st Century, the entire humanity was confronted with the COVID-19 pandemic, which has accelerated the on-going global economic crisis. The World leaders with no exception had to face up to these unprecedented Challenges.

This pandemic took place, in the context of formidable global Challenges created by imperialists.

Namely: (1)  Climate Change

(2)  International Terrorisms

(3)  Global Financial Crisis

(4)  Migrants and refugee Problem

(5)  Global poverty and Social inequality

It is in this background, we are meeting today through video technology. The role of the International Communist Movement at this juncture is critical, crucial and decisive.

While we witness positive and encouraging developments  in certain spheres, are also concerned about certain negative trends in global and goo-political activities..

The positive development is the emerging Asia economy as the vanguard of the World economy. China, as the second largest economy in the world is the decisive factor in our favour.

Matters of concern are geo-political interventions in the Asia Pacific Region, NATO interventions in the Asia and Eastern Europe.  The Anti-Chinese propaganda is the latest ideological strategy of the imperialists, as in the case of imperialist onslaught against the Soviet Union in the post-war period.

The most important factor to be discussed at this forum, I believe the imperialist neo-liberal crisis.

The honeymoon of the neo-liberalism has come to an end and those in power are exploring a new strategy for their survival, while, some resort to unilateralism, yet some others attempts to bridle trends of multilateralism.

The developed capitalist strategies are divided and take contradictory positions in the global affairs. Those who hailed neo-liberalism, now seek to attempt in controlling capital and markets. Yet others attempt to take escape routes.

In our view, Imperialism which exhausted for the last 150 years is weakening in all fronts, economic, military, technology, finance and media. So some have become desperate.

In our view all these positive developments have been brought about by the rise of the Asian economy after 500 years.

Chinese economy has become the engine of growth, as far as   the Asian economy is concerned.

In this context I believe the fraternal parties in the International Communist Movement should give highest priority to the ideological front, championing the cause of the working people, exposing the latest strategies of imperialism and defending Marxism unreservedly.

This is the international task placed before us. The Communist Party of Sri Lanka expresses its unreserved support and solidarity for the causeof social and human liberation.
