The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:
Seven women journalists have come forward recounting their experience of sexual harassment and unacceptable behavior from M J Akbar when he was Editor of various newspapers.
Since these are serious charges, M J Akbar’s continuance as a Minister of State in the Central Government is untenable. He should immediately resign from office.
