Joint statement

We intensify the struggle against NATO and its warmongering decisions

At the June 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague, member states committed to raise military spending to 5% of GDP by 2035. This escalation, cynically framed as a commitment to “defend democracy and freedom” and “support Ukraine,” is in fact a war agenda serving the declining hegemony of Euro-Atlantic capital in the face of increased inter-imperialist rivalry.

Behind the empty talk of peace and stability lies a brutal reality: more war, more displacement, more deaths of people, of conscripted youth, of workers sacrificed to imperialist aggression. Billions will be stripped from public health, education, housing, only to be funneled into tanks, drones, and the treasuries of military contractors and capitalists. At the same time, the working class will face increased exploitation, pressed to produce more for less, to sustain the war economy while their own lives deteriorate.

Even within NATO, internal contradictions and economic inequality reveal a fragile coalition hostile to peace and the interests of the peoples and expresses the pursuit of capitalist profit. The workers are told this is for their safety. In truth, it is a direct attack on their lives and living standards. Their wars are not the people’s wars and are not fought in the people’s interest.

We, the communist and worker’s partiessigning this statement:

  • Strengthen the struggle of the peoples against NATO and its dangerous decisions and termination of funding for war budgets. We fight for the needs of the peoples, against imperialist wars.
  • We demand immediate closure of all US and NATO bases in our countries
  • We fight for an end to imperialist interventions and our countries’ involvement in them

We call on workers, students, and all oppressed and exploited people to organize in every workplace and neighbourhood. The struggle for peace is the struggle for socialism with disengagement from NATO and any imperialist alliance. Only this path offers a future worth fighting for.
