Solidarity with the Iranian people! Down with imperialist aggression!

On the night of 21 to 22 June, the United States attacked the three most important nuclear facilities in Iran. In doing so, it joined Israeli's terrorist war against Iran, which violates international law. The Prussian general and military theorist Clausewitz once wrote: ‘War is merely the continuation of politics by other means.’

How right Clausewitz was with this statement is evident once again today. Imperialism, the highest stage of capitalism, is not interested in lasting peace between peoples. The constant struggle of capitalist monopolies for maximum profit subjects people and nature to permanent exploitation and oppression. It also provokes the fiercest struggle among the monopolies for profits, access to raw materials and energy sources, and the division of the world among themselves. If their own goals cannot be achieved by ‘peaceful’ means such as diplomacy, sanctions, economic warfare and the like, they resort to military means, to open warfare.

Capitalism proves to be a society in which ‘peace’ and war create inhuman conditions that subject peoples to exploitation and oppression. Imperialist ‘peace’ is like a gun to the head of the peoples, ready to be fired at any moment. War is simply the continuation of politics by other means.

We call for solidarity with the peoples of Iran, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and all other peoples of the region. Solidarity with the peoples and their struggle against imperialism and exploitation must be strengthened!

We call for an intensified struggle against Austria's membership in the so-called NATO Partnership for Peace and the European Union! Any participation by Austria in imperialist alliances, military operations and actions increases the danger that Austria will be drawn into the rapidly escalating imperialist wars! We call on the federal government to condemn in the strongest terms the attacks by Israel and the USA on Iran, which violate international law. The double standards in the assessment of wars, which Austria has adopted following the example of the Western imperialists, are destroying what remains of Austria's credibility as a neutral state on the international stage.

We call on the Austrian federal government to finally cease all political, economic and other forms of cooperation with the murderous state of Israel, which, together with the USA, NATO and the EU, threatens to turn the entire Middle East into a conflagration that threatens the existence of humanity!

The consistent struggle against ever new imperialist wars must be directed against capitalism itself, which constantly produces new wars. We are waging a double struggle: for peace and neutrality and for the construction of socialism and communism! For a society of peace and fraternity among peoples!

Erklärung des Parteivorstandes der Partei der Arbeit Österreichs (PdA), 22. Juni 2025

In der Nacht vom 21. auf den 22. Juni haben die USA die drei wichtigsten Atomanlagen im Iran angegriffen. Damit sind sie in den völkerrechtswidrigen und terroristischen Krieg Israels gegen den Iran eingestiegen. Der preußische General und Militärtheoretiker Clausewitz schrieb einst: „Der Krieg ist eine bloße Fortsetzung der Politik mit anderen Mitteln.“

Wie recht Clausewitz mit dieser Feststellung hatte, zeigt sich heute einmal mehr. Der Imperialismus, das höchste Stadium des Kapitalismus, ist nicht an dauerhaftem Frieden zwischen den Völkern interessiert. Der ständige Kampf der kapitalistischen Monopole um den maximalen Profit unterwirft Mensch und Natur einer permanenten Ausbeutung und Unterdrückung. Er ruft auch den schärfsten Kampf der Monopole um die Profite, den Zugang zu Rohstoffen und Energiequellen sowie die Aufteilung der Welt untereinander hervor. Können die eigenen Ziele dabei nicht mit den „friedlichen“ Mitteln der Diplomatie, der Sanktionen, des Wirtschaftskrieges und Ähnlichem erreicht werden, wird auf militärische Mittel, auf den offenen Krieg zurückgegriffen.

Der Kapitalismus erweist sich als eine Gesellschaft, in der „Frieden“ und Krieg menschenfeindliche Umstände schaffen, die die Völker Ausbeutung und Unterdrückung unterwerfen. Der imperialistische „Frieden“ kommt einer Waffe an der Schläfe der Völker, jederzeit bereit abzudrücken, gleich. Der Krieg ist eben die Fortsetzung der Politik mit anderen Mitteln.

Wir rufen zur Solidarität mit den Völkern des Iran, Palästinas, Syriens, Libanons, Jemens und allen anderen Völkern der Region auf. Die Solidarität mit den Völkern und ihrem Kampf gegen Imperialismus und Ausbeutung muss gestärkt werden!

Wir rufen zum verstärkten Kampf gegen die österreichische Mitgliedschaft in der sogenannten NATO-Partnerschaft für den Frieden und der Europäischen Union auf! Jede Beteiligung Österreichs an den imperialistischen Bündnissen, Militäreinsätzen und Aktionen erhöht die Gefahr, dass Österreich in die rasant eskalierenden imperialistischen Kriege hineingezogen wird! Wir fordern die Bundesregierung auf, die völkerrechtswidrigen Angriffe Israels und der USA auf den Iran auf das Schärfste zu verurteilen. Die doppelten Standards in der Beurteilung von Kriegen, die sich Österreich nach dem Vorbild der westlichen Imperialisten zu eigen machen, zerstören die Reste der Glaubwürdigkeit Österreichs als neutralem Staat auf der internationalen Bühne.

Wir fordern die österreichische Bundesregierung dazu auf, endlich jede politische, ökonomische und sonst wie geartete Zusammenarbeit mit dem mörderischen Staat Israel einzustellen, der gemeinsam mit den USA, der NATO und der EU droht, den ganzen Nahen und Mittleren Osten in einen Flächenbrand zu verwandeln, der die Existenz der Menschheit bedroht!

Der konsequente Kampf gegen immer neue imperialistische Kriege muss sich gegen den Kapitalismus selbst richten, der permanent neue Kriege hervorbringt. Wir führen einen doppelten Kampf: für Frieden und Neutralität und für den Aufbau des Sozialismus und Kommunismus! Für eine Gesellschaft des Friedens und der Geschwisterlichkeit der Völker!
