Dear comrades,

The Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas (PKP-1930, the  Philippine Communist Party)  congratulates the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPVN) on tomorrow's occasion of the 90th Anniversary of the founding of your esteemed party.

The founding of the CPVN, through the leading role of the great Ho Chi Minh in unifying the different communist movements in Vietnam in February 1930, strengthened the Vietnamese national liberation movement against French colonialism. The later unification of the communist movements in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, under the Indochinese Communist Party, further strengthened the Indochina-wide struggle against French colonialism and the succeeding Japanese militarist occupation.

Under the leadership of the re-established CPVN, the August Revolution of 1945 was won, and the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam was founded. Also under the leadership of the CPVN (renamed as the Workers' Party of Viet Nam), the French colonialists were finally routed at Dien Bien Phu in 1954. The long and bitter struggle against the succeeding period of US intervention was gloriously won in 1975, with the liberation of the southern part of Viet Nam, and the reunification of the whole country.

The PKP-1930 hails your victory at Dien Bien Phu in 1954, and the victory of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign which liberated Saigon in 1975, as the greatest Asian  victories against colonialism and imperialist interventionism. We also salute the Internationalist spirit of the CPVN (the party's name restored in 1976) which led to the quick liberation of the whole of Cambodia in December 1978, saving the Cambodian people from the genocidal reign of the bloody Khmer Rouge backed by then maoist China. Further, we salute the CPVN's present resolute positions against hegemonist encroachments in the South East Asian  Sea (“South China Sea”).

The PKP-1930 continues to stand in solidarity with Vietnam and the CPVN in the struggle against imperialism and hegemonism, for peace and good-neighborly relations  in our region.

On this occasion, the PKP-1930 wishes the CPVN greater strength in  building a socialist country with peace, prosperity and happiness for the Vietnamese people.
