Message of the Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran to the fraternal Communist and Workers Parties of the World…

In view of the policies of world imperialism and the deep and widespread crisis in the Middle East region, the EnlargedPlenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran once again emphasised the necessity of deepening international solidarity with the Iranian people's struggle for freedom, independence, social justice, peace, and the right to national sovereignty.

Dear Comrades,

The EnlargedPlenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran was successfully convened in February 2025.Owing to the passing of 30 months since the successful convening of our VII Congress in June 2022 - and given the significant developments in Iran, as well as important developments in the Middle East region over the past 18 months - the holding of such a meeting had become necessary. 

Participants in the EnlargedPlenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran paid special attention to the Political Bureau's report on the significant developments in Iran and the courageous, intelligent, and heroic struggle of workers, toilers, and other [societal] sectors in the country. They once more emphasised the imperativeness of mobilising and preparing all battalions [fronts] of the struggle in preparation for a national and democratic revolution. The report, which was approved with amendments, also reviewed the [current] international situation. It addressed, among other issues, the ongoing devastating war in Ukraine, the crimes of the Israeli apartheid regime in Gaza, the complex and worrying wider developments in the Middle East,as well as the alarming rise of right-wing and quasi-fascist forces worldwide - including their ascent to power in some European countries and the Americas.

Dear Comrades,

Iran today, under the shadow of the authoritarian and theocratic rule of the Islamic Republic, is facing numerous serious crises. These crises manifest in various areas. The unfettered implementation of neoliberal capitalist economic policies, including widespread privatisation, the suppression of the labour movement and other socio-economic protests, along with endemic corruption and the crippling unjust imperialist sanctions, have led to a precipitous decline in employment as well as livelihoods for the middle class and have pushed an ever-growing swathe of the country's already struggling population below the poverty line. According to official statistics, more than 40% of the Iranian population now lives below the poverty line. Some estimates soberingly suggest that the poverty rate in Iran could reach 50% by 2025. The unequal distribution of wealth has further sharpened class disparities in the country. 

Participants in the EnlargedPlenary Meeting reaffirmed the Party's analyses over the past two years regarding the nationwide and powerful 'Woman, Life, Freedom' uprising. This uprising began in September 2022 with the massive participation of women, youth, and popular sectors, forcing the regime into significant retreats [from positions it had previously been intransigent on]. The Plenum also engaged in a comprehensive discussion on the various aspects of the expanding protest movement of the working class and other toilers in the country, who have taken up the struggle on a large scale against the regime's disastrous economic and social policies.The Enlarged Plenary reached agreementon efforts to deepen and expand this movement.

Throughout its 84 years of work and struggle, the Tudeh Party of Iran has remained committed to the teachings and principles of Marxism-Leninism and proletarian internationalism. It has consistently upheld the banner of defending the interests of workers and toilers as well as the struggle for fundamental and necessary transformations in Iran. 

The Tudeh Party of Iran, drawing upon its practical experience over the past four decades, strives to increasingly and more effectively inform the international labour and communist movement about the nature of the political dictatorship ruling Iran, which is rooted in the ideology of 'Political Islam'. Our Party seeks to place awareness of this regime's negative impact on developments across the Middle East, as well as inside Iran, at the forefront of discussions and exchanges with fraternal parties. We firmly believe that in the international campaign to defend peace in the Middle East and to actively support the people's struggle, especially the struggle of the working people of Iran for progress and national sovereignty, it is essential to have an accurate understanding of the true nature of Iran's theocratic dictatorship and its economic and social policies. 

The Tudeh Party of Iran highly values and appreciates your international solidarity with the struggles of the Iranian people and toilers against the deceitful, interventionist, and warmongering schemes of world imperialism concerning our beloved homeland, Iran. This includes your condemnation of the crippling economic sanctions, whose primary victims are the most oppressed and disadvantaged social groups in Iranian society. 

The EnlargedPlenary Meeting of our Party's Central Committee reiterated that in the realm of expanding and building upon solidarity between communist and workers' parties and other progressive forces worldwide with the Iranian people's righteous and honourable struggle for freedom and justice against the repressive, unpopular, anti-labour, and deeply reactionary policies of the theocratic regime ruling Iran, we must redouble in our endeavour.The reactionary regime in Iran has severely restricted the possibility of any effective, widespread, and powerful grassroots coordinating or organising of political and social activists within the main arenas of struggle inside the country.

The history and bloody experiences of the world's peoples demonstrate the reality that whenever the cry of indignation and protest and the powerful force of international solidarity meet with the popular struggle and revolutionary forces of any country, prison doors are flung open; the banner of peace is raised higher; the militant and justice-seeking march of the toilers becomes more resolute;and the executioners'tools are dulled,while those of the people fighting for freedom, independence, and social justice become sharper and more well-defined!

Victory to the struggle for peace, socialism, and progress!

Power to the international solidarity of communist and workers' parties!

May the torch of the defence by freedom-loving and progressive forces of the world for the Iranian people's liberation movement burn even brighter!
