Full Support to the European Day of Action and Solidarity
The Communist Party of Brazil expresses its solidarity and militant support to the European Day of Action and Solidarity, the widest movement of European workers in recent times, against the economic policies under course in that Continent, which directly affect worker´s rights and the economies of the majority of the countries in the region.
Called by international confederations and national central unions, millions of European workers went on unified general strikes last November 14th, in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece, followed by solidarity actions and manifestations in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Switzerland, Slovenia and Romania.
The main goal in this history of journey of struggles is the radical opposition of European workers to the submission of their governments to the economic policies promoted by troika (European Central Bank, International Monetary Fund and European Commission), which essentially tries to unload the weight of the serious economic crisis on the back of workers of the Euro zone.
The policy of dismantling of the Welfare State, the high increase in unemployment, the cuts in wages and retirements, the reduction of budgets for social areas and the abusive increase of taxes for workers deepened the economic crisis, broke the finances of the national States, caused bankruptcy of enterprises that are not monopolies and spread denationalization of the economy to most countries of the Euro zone.
Within such context, European workers, supported by democratic, nationalist and progressive forces in the Continent, take into their hands the urgent task of building an alternative agenda for Europe, in order to open new perspectives to overcome the crisis and clear the way for a real development, anchored on the valorization of work and the strengthening of national economies.

Todo Apoio ao Dia Europeu de Ação e Solidariedade
Convocados por confederações internacionais e por centrais sindicais nacionais, milhões de trabalhadores europeus realizaram neste 14 de novembro greves gerais unificadas em Portugal, Espanha, Itália e Grécia, acompanhadas de ações de solidariedade e manifestações no Reino Unido, Bélgica, Holanda, Suécia, Finlândia, Alemanha, República Tcheca, França, Suiça, Eslovênia e Romênia.
A grande bandeira dessa histórica jornada de lutas é a radical oposição dos trabalhadores europeus à submissão de seus governos às políticas econômicas promovidas pela troika (Banco Central Europeu, Fundo Monetário Internacional e Comissão Europeia), que em essência procuram descarregar o peso da grave crise econômica nas costas dos trabalhadores da zona do Euro.
A política de desmonte do Estado de Bem-Estar Social, o aumento acentuado do desemprego, dos cortes de salários e aposentadorias, a redução dos orçamentos para as áreas sociais, e o aumento abusivo dos impostos para os trabalhadores aprofundam a crise econômica, quebram as finanças dos estados nacionais, provocam a falência das empresas não-monopolistas e ampliam a desnacionalização da economia na maioria dos países da zona do Euro.
Diante dessa realidade, os trabalhadores europeus, apoiados pelas forças democráticas, nacionais e progressistas do Continente, tomam em suas mãos a inadiável tarefa de construir uma agenda alternativa para a Europa, com vistas a descortinar uma nova perspectiva que supere a crise e abra caminho para o verdadeiro desenvolvimento ancorado na valorização do trabalho e no fortalecimento das economias nacionais.
