Appeal For Humanitarian Help
Dear Comrades, friends, philanthropists and sympathizers:
As you have learned, that Pakistan, apart from the inflected disasters at the hands of imperialism and its cronies, Islamic fundamentalists (Talibans), has now been stood a victim of greater than Tsunami magnitude (UNO Report) flood calamity, which according to the weather forecasts, this condition of disastrous monsoon, torrential raining and flood will keep continue for about 25days further.
Up-till now about 20millians people are affected i.e. have lost their every belonging, house holds etc, similarly about 6millians are left in the open air, with no means of living and shelter, homes, property inundated, crops value 1 billions $ US destroyed, millions of women, children, sick are stranded in the flood inundated areas, as the roads, bridges and other communication and electricity infrastructure is totally ruined, where the synergistic continuous rains and flood streams hampers at most the meager available rescue and aid works.
The Communist Party workers, youth and supporters have already started humanitarian rescue and aid works in the flood effected areas with covert names for better known security reasons to all and sundry.
The number of human casualties only in the province of Pukhtookhwa till date recorded over 2000, where the exact data is not available due to un-available sources from the area, but one thing is sure, that this number would multiply in hundreds of thousands due to shortage of food items, clean water, and as aftermaths of waterborne diseases, epidemics cholera, gastroenteritis, dysentery etc and mayhem of starvations as even if the flood and raining stalemates, then millions of the displaced and stranded in flood areas people’s rehabilitation task is just beyond the limits at our end.
The provinces of Punjab and Sindh, Balochistan, which are on way of the flood engulfing disasters ( the western media has very nicely quoted, calling it flood of Biblical proportions ) is beyond estimation at this point in figures for humans, live stock destructions and crops devastations.
In light of this brief prelude, the Communist Party of Pakistan extend its appeal to all the fraternal parties, friends, individual comrades, philanthropists, charity organizations and sympathizers for what ever way possible help at your ends, may please be rendered to us so that we could with a bit ease dispense our relief work to the victims of this colossal calamity. We need the following items most urgently: Items of food stuff, drinking water canes, plastic cutlery items, clothes, tents, blankets, construction material, first aid medicine /vaccines, etc.
