Dear comrades,
We would like to inform you that the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Luxembourg (KPL) has taken the decision to convoke the 33rd Congress of the party. It will take place on December 16, 2012 in the working class city of Differdingen.
The congress will have to evaluate the current situation in Luxembourg, which is characterised by the overall crisis of the capitalist system. As in all other member states of the European Union, we are confronted with serious austerity programs imposed by the conservative-socialist government under the guidance of the EU leadership. Closing of factories, growing unemployment, worsening of the working and living conditions, manipulations of the pensions system as well as in the health system are logic consequences of the neo-liberal austerity policy.
The Communist Party of Luxembourg is the only political force in our country which is permanently analyzing the ongoing social destructions and explaining the reasons for this development to the people. We are saying clearly that there will be no solution of the problems in the framework of the existing capitalist system and that a final solution can be only found by abolishing the exploitation of men by man, by putting an end to capitalism and constructing a just social system, which can only be socialism as it was described by Marx, Engels and Lenin.
Our congress will discuss the place and the main tasks of KPL in the ongoing struggle against all social destructions. It has also to define the tasks of the party in the forthcoming parliamentary elections in 2014, where our party will participate with open lists under the name of KPL. We will base our discussions on the experiences of the party from the municipal elections of 2011, when candidates of KPL have been elected as members of the municipal councils in three working class cities in the south of Luxembourg. The congress will also elect a new Central Committee.

Due to the financial situation of our party, we are not in the position to invite other parties then our sister parties from the neighbouring countries to send a delegation to our congress. On the other hand, we would be pleased to receive a message of greetings which could be published in our daily paper and be distributed to the delegates of the congress.
