The Brazilian Communist Party – PCB – expresses its complete repudiation of the arrest and torture of comrade Booker Ngesa Omole, Secretary-General of the Communist Party Marxist of Kenya, and expresses its full solidarity with the CPK – M.
On the night of February 23, 2026, comrade Omole was kidnapped by police officers in the city of Isiolo. This was not a legal arrest: it was a brutal kidnapping, typical of bandits. During the arrest, the Kenyan communist leader was brutally beaten: he suffered a broken tooth, a broken arm, and other serious injuries. He was transported throughout the night to various locations, deprived of food and water, and taken to the notorious Mlolongo police station, where he continued to be subjected to abuse and humiliation and was initially denied his right to legal assistance. Omole is being held in unsanitary conditions, has been denied bail, and has been charged with terrorism; the servile Kenyan press has barely reported on the comrade's kidnapping.
This is not the first time comrade Omole has been targeted by the wrath of gangs serving the reactionary government of William Ruto. On January 11, 2025, he was attacked when 8 armed assailants invaded his home; on that occasion, the PCB firmly expressed its solidarity with the comrade and the CPK-M and its repudiation of reactionary violence.
This time, Ruto's pro-NATO right-wing government accuses the comrade of attempted murder of police officers, assaulting police, and having links with then-imprisoned President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the US drug cartel. This occurred because he organized a demonstration at the US Embassy demanding the release of Nicolás Maduro, according to information from comrades from the CPK-M.
It is clear that such actions are not isolated incidents: they are part of a chain of systematic repression perpetrated against the communist and workers' movement in Kenya. The Kenyan authorities, acting in line with the general policy of the imperialist camp, are trying to silence those who expose the true nature of neocolonial exploitation and those who oppose the predatory policies of international monopolies and their local agents. The fabricated charges against comrade Omole — attempted murder of police officers and links to drug cartels — aim to discredit him and his entire party in the eyes of public opinion and justify the retaliation.
The Brazilian Communist Party – PCB – once again expresses its unrestricted solidarity with comrade Booker Ngesa Omole and all comrades of the Communist Party of Kenya – Marxist, demands the immediate release of comrade Omole, the withdrawal of all false and slanderous charges against the comrade, and respect for the freedom of speech and manifestation of Kenyan communists.
TOTAL SOLIDARITY TO THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF KENYA – MARXIST!
FREEDOM FOR COMRADE BOOKER NGESSA OMOLE!
OUT RUTO! SOCIALISM WILL TRIUMPH!
