LONG LIVE THE GREAT VICTORY OF THE PORTUGUESE WORKING CLASS! 

The Brazilian Communist Party – PCB – greets with revolutionary joy and class-based internationalist solidarity the great victory of the Portuguese working class, which defeated the anti-worker labor package of the reactionary PDS-CDS government, with outstanding participation from the PCP and CGTP-IN in this victorious struggle. 

In Portugal, as in Brazil and the rest of the world, the bourgeoisie seeks to place upon the shoulders of the working class the burden of the deep and prolonged crisis that capitalism has been undergoing since the beginning of the 21st century, particularly since 2007/2008. As the comrades of the PCP point out in their Note, “The assault on rights, which degrades living conditions and seeks to jeopardize the future of workers, women, young people, and children, is not only occurring in Portugal; it is also pursued by the European Union and by most governments of its member states, as well as by governments in other countries around the world.” 

Here in Brazil, since the labor reform implemented by the illegitimate and coup-installed government of Michel Temer, the precarization of work and underemployment have increased. The low official unemployment rates conceal the rampant growth of informality and self-employment, without any labor rights. Regrettably, the hegemony of class conciliation and the purest form of union bureaucracy in the Brazilian labor movement has prevented trade unionism from organizing a combative response to the attacks of capital in Brazil. The last time it was possible to unite the entire trade union movement in a unified struggle response, in June 2019, the Brazilian working class launched a major General Strike that, on that occasion, blocked the proposed Social Security Reform – which was later taken up again by the neofascist government of Jair Bolsonaro. 

The successful struggle of the Portuguese working class, led by its Party – the PCP – and by its trade union organization – the CGTP-IN and the United Trade Union Movement – leaves a clear lesson for the working class of Brazil and the entire world: only struggle wins and maintains rights!

VIVA A GRANDE VITÓRIA DA CLASSE TRABALHADORA PORTUGUESA!

O Partido Comunista Brasileiro – PCB – saúda com júbilo revolucionário e solidariedade internacionalista classista a grande vitória da classe trabalhadora portuguesa, que derrotou o pacote laboral antitrabalhador do governo reacionário PDS-CDS, com  destacada participação do PCP e da CGTP-IN nesta vitoriosa luta. 

Em Portugal, como no Brasil e no resto do mundo, a burguesia busca fazer cair sobre os ombros da classe trabalhadora o ônus da crise profunda e prolongada por que passa o capitalismo desde o início do século XXI, particularmente a partir de 2007/2008. Como os camaradas do PCP assinalam em sua Nota, “A investida contra os direitos, que degrada as condições de vida e quer colocar em causa o futuro dos trabalhadores, das mulheres, dos jovens, das crianças, não se verifica apenas em Portugal, é também prosseguida pela União Europeia e pela generalidade dos governos dos países que a integram, assim como por governos de outros países no mundo.” 

Aqui no Brasil, desde a Reforma Trabalhista implantada pelo governo ilegítimo e golpista de Michel Temer, aumentou a precarização do trabalho e o subemprego. Os baixos índices oficiais de desemprego escondem o desenfreado aumento da informalidade e do trabalho por conta própria, sem nenhum direito trabalhista. Lamentavelmente, a hegemonia da conciliação de classes e do mais puro peleguismo no movimento sindical brasileiro tem impedido que o sindicalismo organize uma resposta combativa aos ataques do capital no Brasil. Na última vez em que foi possível reunir o conjunto do sindicalismo em uma resposta de luta, em junho de 2019 a classe trabalhadora brasileira deflagrou uma grande Greve Geral que, naquela ocasião, barrou a proposta de Reforma da Previdência – que foi retomada posteriormente pelo governo neofascista de Jair Bolsonaro. 

A exitosa jornada de lutas da classe trabalhadora portuguesa, liderada por seu Partido – o PCP – e por sua organização sindical – a CGTP-IN e o Movimento Sindical Unitário – deixam uma lição clara à classe trabalhadora do Brasil e de todo o mundo: só a luta conquista e mantém direitos!
