D. Koutsoumbas: The people will find a way out of this burning world by joining forces with the KKE

“Developments speak for themselves and shatter the complacency you have fostered for so long, while confirming the persistent warnings of the KKE”, said Dimitris Koutsoumbas, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the KKE, at the start of his speech in Parliament on 4 March. Addressing the Prime Minister, he refuted the propaganda that “as long as US forces are here, no one will bother us”, at a time when US bases across the region are coming under attack.

D. Koutsoumbas also addressed those who try to disconnect the role of the bases from their very presence Greece, pointing out that it is precisely the governments and Euro-Atlantic parties that have supported their presence. “You are hypocrites and liars”, he said bluntly.

He stressed that the bases must go, because the Greek people will not tolerate their country being turned into an aggressor against other peoples in order to enhance the position of the ruling class —that is, those who exploit their labour.

The GS of the CC of the KKE highlighted the need to denounce the agreement  granting infrastructure to the US and NATO forces, and called for the return of all Greek Armed Forces units stationed abroad.

He emphasized that the Greek Armed Forces are being sent into the lion’s den not to “protect universal Hellenism”, as is falsely claimed, but to serve the interests of Greek shipowners, large construction, energy, and other business groups. “You are sending them for them, to serve NATO’s plans and the big boss”, he stressed.

He refuted all the absurd pretexts offered by the prime minister to justify imperialist crimes against the people of Iran. The KKE underlined that “the people of each country, and no one else, are responsible for the course of their country and its governance! Period. This is a matter of principle and basic logic”.

Finally, he pointed to the dangerous positions of the other parties of the system, urging the Greek people to reject them, as they have nothing to offer. “It is time for everyone to take responsibility. The stance that the people take towards the policy of involvement may determine developments. Their war is not the war of the people”, said the GS of the CC of the KKE. He concluded : “Hope and a way out of this burning world can and must be provided by the people themselves, through their struggle, by decisively and militantly joining forces with the KKE, which is taking on the responsibility of leading this struggle.”

Д. Куцумбас: Выход из охваченного пламенем мира должен указать народ, идя в боевом строю вместе с КПГ

«События говорят сами за себя и развеивают в пух и прах миф о безопасности, который вы всё это время внушали, одновременно подтверждая настойчивые предупреждения КПГ», — заявил Генсек ЦК КПГ Димитрис Куцумбас 4 марта, начиная своё выступление в парламенте. Обращаясь к премьер-министру, он разоблачил всю несостоятельность пропагандистских утверждений о том, что «пока американцы здесь, нас никто не тронет», в то время как военные базы США по всему региону подвергаются атакам.

Д. Куцумбас обратился и к тем, кто пытается отделить роль военных баз от самого факта их присутствия в нашей стране, именно потому, что правительства и партии евроатлантизма годами поддерживали это присутствие. "Вы лицемеры и лжецы", — сказал он с характерной прямотой.

Он заявил, что военные базы должны быть выведены,  потому что греческий народ не потерпит превращения своей страны в палача  других народов ради укрепления позиций правящего класса — то есть всех тех, кто наживается на его труде.

Генсек ЦК КПГ подчеркнул необходимость немедленного расторжения соглашения о предоставлении инфраструктуры американо-натовским силам, а также возвращения всех подразделений греческих вооруженных сил, находящихся за рубежом.

Он отметил, что греческих военнослужащих шлют в логово зверя вовсе не для „защиты вселенского эллинизма“, как об этом абсурдно твердят на все лады, а для защиты интересов греческих судовладельцев, крупных строительных, энергетических и прочих компаний. „Для этого вы их посылаете, а также для того, чтобы обслуживать натовские планы и угождать верховному хозяину» - добавил он.

Он разнес вдребезги все те гнусные предлоги, которыми премьер-министр пытался оправдать империалистические преступления против народа Ирана. И отметил, что  позиция КПГ непреклонна: „За путь развития и государственное устройство каждой страны отвечает только её народ, и никто другой! И точка. Это вопрос принципа и элементарного здравого смысла».

Он указал на опасные позиции остальных системных партий, призвав греческий народ оставить их в стороне, так как они ничего не могут ему предложить. „Настал час ответственности для каждого из нас. От того, какую позицию займет народ по отношению к политике вовлечения [в войну], может зависеть ход дальнейших событий. Их война - это не война народа“, - заявил Генсек ЦК КПГ, подчеркнув: „Вселить надежду и указать выход из охваченного пламенем мира может и должен сам народ, ведя свою борьбу, идя в боевом строю вместе с КПГ, которая берет на себя ответственность быть в первых рядах этой борьбы».
