Four Years Under Death’s Ravenous Gaze

The conflict in Eastern Ukraine did not come as a surprise to the KKE. It marked the ignition of a confrontation that had long been in the making — methodically prepared in the pressure cooker of clashing powerful interests — and it is a direct consequence of the capitalist restoration that led to the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It is worth recalling that at the time, the entire spectrum of Greece’s political establishment, from the far right to the so-called “renewed Left” — except the KKE — was proclaiming that “the avenues of peace and prosperity” were opening up for the peoples.

The long chain of wars — Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Sudan, Ukraine, Iran, and others — along with the capitalist crises that followed, has clearly confirmed who was proven right in their predictions.

Among these wars is the war in Ukraine, which has now lasted 1,461 days. It is the largest war on European soil since the Second World Imperialist War, causing millions of refugees, countless wounded, and hundreds of thousands of deaths. Most are coming from poor popular families, who either could not escape conscription or were drawn into the war “voluntarily” because of the so-called “generous” salaries offered.

The KKE exposed the real causes of this bloodshed, rejecting both the pretexts of the Euro-Atlantic bloc — claims of “defending Ukraine’s sovereignty,” “free choice of alliances,” or “democracy versus authoritarianism” — and the pretexts used by the Russian leadership to justify its unacceptable military invasion, such as an “anti-fascist war,” “protection of Russian-speaking populations,” or “demilitarization of Ukraine”. The KKE made clear that the conflict is not about any of these stated reasons. It is about the control of natural resources, energy routes, and spheres of influence between the Euro-Atlantic bloc and the Eurasian imperialist axis under formation. Recently, in an unvarnished display, the bargaining between Trump, Zelenskiy, and Putin over Ukraine’s rare earths exposed the truth, shattering the last illusions some still held.

During these four years of imperialist war, the KKE has taken a leading role in Greece in the struggle against our country’s involvement in the conflict, as part of the Euro-Atlantic imperialist bloc. The Party organized major mobilizations against the war outside US bases in Alexandroupoli, Souda Bay, Larissa, and elsewhere. It supported corresponding actions by trade unions, mass organizations, and the anti-war and anti-imperialist movement.The KKE blocked roads, railways, and ports used by NATO forces. It voted against the agreement to expand US bases and against the military spending for NATO. In the European Parliament, while New Democracy, PASOK, SYRIZA, and the far right, together with parties of the European “Left”, supported the war frenzy of the European imperialists, the KKE voted against it and denounced these actions to the people.The Party opposed and condemned both the dispatch of Greek armed forces military equipment to Ukraine and the training of Ukrainian soldiers.

Today, a broader concern is the duration of the war and the potential scope it may take, including the possibility that it could expand and merge with the dozens of other military conflicts around the world — for example, the tensions between Iran and the United States. In other words, it could escalate further and lead to the use of even more destructive weapons, including nuclear arms.

War is not a natural phenomenon, like an earthquake. It is a social phenomenon. Under capitalism — the enemy of the peoples — war is inseparable from the rivalries that give rise to imperialist conflicts: the pursuit of monopoly profits, the control of markets and natural resources, energy reserves and energy and commodity transport routes, and the overexploitation of workers and peoples.

Despite various “peace talks” or temporary truces, the truth is that, for the first time since the Second World Imperialist War, humanity is closer than ever to the prospect of a Third World Imperialist War. This assessment is based both on the intense confrontation between the United States and China for supremacy within the global imperialist system, and on the extensive military preparations of the imperialist powers and competing imperialist blocs — developments that strongly resemble the interwar period.It should come as no surprise that contradictions arise within imperialist alliances such as NATO and the European Union. These contradictions stem from uneven capitalist development and the unequal relations between capitalist states. Alliances may shift or be reorganized, but their class nature remains the same: they reflect the economic base of the capitalist states that comprise them, and their conflicts serve the interests of the few, of their monopolies.For this reason, the “Euro-Atlantic versus Eurasian” dilemma is false and irrelevant to the interests of the peoples.

It is the peoples who shed their blood in imperialist wars, becoming “cannon fodder,” while profits flow to the arms industries and the construction firms that carry out the so-called “rebuilding”.

We must not be fooled by rulers of any kind claiming that our country is a “haven of security and stability” in a world that is burning, rotting, and sinking into the abyss of war. Such havens do not exist under capitalism! The United States, NATO, the EU, and every imperialist alliance are no “safe harbour,” despite what they tell us. The cases of Greenland, the “grey zones” in the Aegean, and the so-called “Blue Homeland” make this abundantly clear.

Now is the time to strengthen the struggle of the people and youth: to close the US and NATO bases of death, to bring back the Greek armed forces stationed abroad, and to intensify the workers’ struggle to disengage the country from imperialist interventions, wars, and NATO-EU alliances — makingour people masters in theirown land.

Четыре года под жадным взглядом смерти

Конфликт на востоке Украины не стал для КПГ громом среди ясного неба. Он был вспышкой предопределенного столкновения, которое методично вызревало в «котле» противоречий интересов крупного капитала и стало прямым следствием капиталистической реставрации, приведшей к распаду Советского Союза. Напомним, что тогда весь политический спектр Греции, от крайне правых до так называемых «обновлённых левых», за исключением КПГ, уверял, будто перед народами «открываются широкие проспекты мира и процветания».

Последовавшая затем длинная «цепь» войн (Югославия, Афганистан, Ирак, Ливия, Сирия, Судан, Украина, Иран и т.д.) и капиталистических кризисов наглядно показала, чьи прогнозы оказались верными.

Среди этих войн — и война на Украине, которая сегодня длится уже 1461-й день. Это крупнейшая война на европейской территории после Второй мировой империалистической войны, оставившая после себя миллионы беженцев и раненых, сотни тысяч погибших. В первую очередь гибнут молодые парни из бедных семей — те, кто либо не смог уклониться от мобилизации, либо пошёл на войну «добровольно», соблазнившись «жирными» денежными выплатами.

КПГ раскрыла причины этого кровопролития, отвергнув как предлоги евроатлантического блока о «защите суверенитета Украины», «свободном выборе союзников» и «демократии против авторитаризма», так и предлоги, которыми руководство России оправдывало недопустимое военное вторжение на Украину, об «антифашистской войне», «защите русскоязычного населения» и «демилитаризации Украины». КПГ показала, что этот конфликт связан не с вышеперечисленным, а с борьбой за контроль над природными богатствами, энергетическими путями и сферами влияния между евроатлантическим блоком и формирующимся евразийским империалистическим блоком. Недавний без прикрас торг между Трампом, Зеленским и Путиным вокруг редкоземельных металлов Украины разрушил последние иллюзии, которые еще у кого-то оставались.

На протяжении этих четырех лет империалистической войны КПГ шла в первых рядах борьбы в Греции против вовлечения нашей страны в войну на стороне евроатлантического империалистического блока. Она организовала крупные антивоенные выступления у американских военных баз в Александруполисе, Суде, Ларисе и других городах, поддержала  аналогичные действия профсоюзов и массовых организаций антивоенного антиимпериалистического движения, блокировала дороги, железнодорожные линии и порты, которые использовали силы НАТО. КПГ голосовала против соглашения о расширении американских баз и против военных расходов на нужды НАТО. В Европарламенте, когда НД, ПАСОК, СИРИЗА и ультраправые партии совместно с европейскими «левыми» поддержали военную истерию европейских империалистов, КПГ проголосовала против и публично осудила этот шаг. КПГ выразила протест и осудила как отправку военной техники греческих Вооружённых сил на Украину, так и подготовку украинских военнослужащих.

Сегодня всё большее беспокойство вызывают продолжительность войны и те дальнейшие масштабы, которые она может принять, а также возможность того, что она охватит и сольётся с десятками других военных конфликтов в мире (например, Иран–США). Иными словами, сможет ли война разрастись до огромных масштабов и привести к применению всё более разрушительных, вплоть до ядерных, видов оружия.

Война — не природное явление, подобное землетрясению, а социальное явление. В условиях капитализма, враждебного народам, она неразрывно связана с противоречиями, ведущими к империалистическим войнам в погоне монополий за прибылью, в борьбе за контроль над рынками и природными богатствами, энергетическими месторождениями и путями транспортировки энергии и товаров, за сверхэксплуатацию трудящихся и народов.

Несмотря на различные «мирные переговоры» и возможные временные перемирия, правда заключается в том, что после Второй мировой империалистической войны человечество  впервые оказалось так близко к угрозе Третьей мировой империалистической войны. Этот вывод основан как на ожесточённом противостоянии США и Китая за первенство в мировой империалистической системе, так и на усиленной военной подготовке империалистических держав и конкурирующих империалистических центров, которая во многом напоминает период между двумя мировыми войнами. Не должно вызывать удивления и то, что внутри империалистических союзов, таких как НАТО и ЕС, возникают противоречия. Они порождаются неравномерностью капиталистического развития и неравноправными отношениями между капиталистическими государствами. Союзы могут трансформироваться и перегруппировываться, однако их классовая сущность остаётся неизменной: их основой служит экономика капиталистических государств, входящих в эти союзы, а грызня между ними ведется в интересах немногих — их монополий. Поэтому дилемма «евроатлантический или евразийский лагерь» является ложной и не имеет ничего общего с интересами народов.

Именно народы проливают свою кровь в империалистических войнах, превращаются в «пушечное мясо», чтобы на этом наживались все — от военной промышленности до строительных компаний, делающих бизнес на «восстановлении» руин.

Не стоит верить всевозможным правителям, уверяющим, будто наша страна является «островом безопасности и стабильности» в мире, который полыхает, разлагается и погружается в бездну войн! Таких островов при капитализме не существует! США, НАТО, ЕС — ни один империалистический союз не является «тихой гаванью», как нам пытаются внушить. Об этом красноречиво свидетельствуют история с Гренландией, «серые зоны» в Эгейском море и так называемая концепция «Голубой родины» и т.д.

Сегодня необходимо усилить борьбу народа и молодёжи за закрытие американо-натовских военных баз смерти,  возвращение греческих подразделений вооружённых сил, находящихся за пределами страны, усиление борьбы трудящихся за вывод страны из империалистических интервенций и войн, за выход из НАТО и ЕС, чтобы народ стал хозяином в своей стране.

Quatre ans sous le regard vorace de la mort

Le conflit dans l'est de l'Ukraine n'a pas été un coup de tonnerre dans un ciel serein pour le KKE, mais l'embrasement d'un conflit annoncé, méthodiquement préparé dans le «chaudron» des rivalités entre puissants intérêts et résultat de la restauration capitaliste qui a conduit à la dissolution de l'Union soviétique. Rappelons qu'à l'époque, le monde politique grec, de l'extrême droite à la soi-disant «gauche rénovatrice», sauf le KKE, affirmait que «les voies de la paix et de la prospérité s'ouvraient» pour les peuples.

La longue «chaîne» de guerres (Yougoslavie, Afghanistan, Irak, Libye, Syrie, Soudan, Ukraine, Iran, etc.) et les crises capitalistes qui ont suivi, démontrent clairement qui avait fait des prévisions pertinentes.

Parmi les guerres qui ont éclaté, il y a celle en Ukraine, qui perdure depuis 1.461 jours. Il s'agit du plus grand conflit sur le territoire européen depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale, ayant fait des millions de réfugiés, des blessés, et des centaines de milliers de morts. Il s'agit principalement d'enfants issus de familles pauvres, qui n'ont pas pu échapper à la conscription ou qui se sont engagés«volontairement» dans la guerre en raison des «généreuses» rémunérations salariales.

Le KKE a révélé les causes de ce bain de sang, rejetant à la fois les prétextes invoqués par le bloc euro-atlantique, tels que la «défense de la souveraineté de l'Ukraine», le «libre choix des alliés» ou la «démocratie contre l'autoritarisme», ainsi que ceuxutilisés par les dirigeants russes pour justifier l'invasion militaire inacceptable de l'Ukraine, à savoir la «guerre antifasciste», la «défense des russophones» ou la «démilitarisation de l'Ukraine». Il a montré que le conflit ne portait sur aucun de ces éléments, mais sur le contrôle des ressources naturelles, des voies énergétiques et des sphères d'influence entre le bloc euro-atlantique et l'axe impérialiste eurasien en cours de formation. Récemment, nous avons tous pu voir sans retouche les négociations entre Trump, Zelensky et Poutine au sujet des terres rares de l'Ukraine, qui ont fait voler en éclats les dernières illusions que certains pouvaient encore avoir.

Au cours de ces quatre années de guerre impérialiste, le KKE a été à l'avant-garde de la lutte contre l'implication de la Grèce dans le conflit aux côtés du bloc impérialiste euro-atlantique. Il a notamment organisé d'importantes mobilisations devant les bases états-uniennes d'Alexandroupolis, de Souda, de Larissa, etc. Il a également soutenu les actions similaires des syndicats, des organisations de masse, du mouvement antiguerre et anti-impérialiste. Il a bloqué les routes, les chemins de fer et les ports utilisés par les forces de l'OTAN. Il a voté contre l'accord d'expansion des bases états-uniennes et des dépenses militaires de l'OTAN. Au Parlement européen, lorsque la ND, le PASOK, SYRIZA et l'extrême droite, conjointement avec les partis de la «gauche» européenne, ont soutenu la frénésie guerrière des impérialistes européens, le KKE a voté contre et a dénoncé cette situation au peuple. Il s'est opposé et a condamné l'envoi de matériel de guerre des forces armées grecques en Ukraine ainsi que la formation des militaires ukrainiens.

Aujourd'hui, on s'inquiète de la durée et de l'ampleur que pourrait prendre la guerre, ainsi que de la possibilité qu'elleenglobe et s’unisse à d'autres confrontations dans le monde, comme celle entre l'Iran et les États-Unis. Autrement dit, elle pourrait s'intensifier davantage et conduire à l'utilisation d'armes plus destructrices, voire nucléaires.

La guerre n'est pas un phénomène naturel, comme un tremblement de terre, mais un phénomène social. Dans le capitalisme, qui est l'ennemi des peuples, elle est identifiée aux rivalités qui conduisent aux guerres impérialistes pour le profit des monopoles, le contrôle des marchés et des sources de richesse, des gisements énergétiques et des voies de transport de l'énergie et des marchandises, ainsi que pour la surexploitation des travailleurs et des peuples.

Malgré les différentes «négociations de paix» ou les éventuelles trêves temporaires, la vérité est que l'humanité est, pour la première fois depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale, si proche d'une troisième guerre mondiale impérialiste. Cette constatation repose à la fois sur le conflit violent entre les États-Unis et la Chine pour la suprématie au sein du système impérialiste mondial et sur les préparatifs de guerre intenses des puissances impérialistes et des pôles impérialistes rivaux, qui rappellent fortement la période de l'entre-deux-guerres. Le fait que des contradictions apparaissent au sein des alliances impérialistes, comme l'OTAN ou l'UE, ne doit pas nous surprendre. Elles sont dues au développement inégal du capitalisme et aux relations inégales entre les États capitalistes. Ces alliances peuvent changer, se reconstituer, mais leur ADN de classe reste le même: elles sont la base économique des États capitalistes qui les composent, et leur «querelle» sert les intérêts d'une minorité, de leurs monopoles. C'est pourquoi le dilemme «camp euro-atlantique ou camp eurasien» est faux et n'a rien à voir avec les intérêts des peuples.

Ce sont les peuples qui versent leur sang dans les guerres impérialistes, qui deviennent de la «chair à canon» pour enrichir les industries de l'armement et de la «reconstruction».

Nous ne devons pas croire les dirigeants de tous bords qui prétendent que notre pays est un «îlot de sécurité et de stabilité» dans un monde qui s'embrase, se décompose et sombre dans l'abîme des guerres! De tels îlots n'existent pas dans le capitalisme! Les États-Unis, l'OTAN, l'UE, toutes les alliances impérialistes ne sont pas des «ports abrités», comme on nous le dit. Le cas du Groenland, les «zones grises» en mer Égée, ladite «patrie bleue» etcen sont la preuve.

Il faut maintenant renforcer la lutte du peuple et de la jeunesse pour fermer les bases de la mort de l'OTAN et des États-Unis, pour faire revenir les forces armées grecques qui se trouvent hors de nos frontières. Les travailleurs doivent intensifier leur lutte pour que le pays se désengage des interventions impérialistes, des guerres, des alliances de l'OTAN et de l'UE, et pour que le peuple devienne maître chez lui.

4 vite që «vdekja na shikon dhe i shkojnë jargë»

Konflikti në Ukrainën Lindore nuk ishte një rrufe në qiell të hapur për Partinë Komuniste të Greqisë (KKE), por ndezja e një përplasjeje të paracaktuar, e cila u përgatit metodikisht në «kazanin» e antagonizmave të interesave të fuqishme dhe përbën pasojë e restaurimit kapitalist që çoi në shpërbërjen e Bashkimit Sovjetik. Të kujtojmë se bota e atëhershme politike greke, nga e djathta ekstreme deri te e ashtuquajtura «E majtë rinovuese» dhe «përveç Lakedemonëve» të KKE, pretendonte se «po hapen rrugët e paqes dhe të mirëqenies» për popujt.

«Zinxhiri» i gjatë i luftërave (Jugosllavi, Afganistan, Irak, Libi, Siri, Sudan, Ukrainë, Iran etj.) dhe krizat kapitaliste që pasuan, konfirmojnë haptazi se kush u vërtetua në parashikimet e veta.

Ndër luftërat që rrodhën është edhe lufta në Ukrainë, e cila sot mbushi 1.461 ditë. Është lufta më e madhe në trojet europiane pas Luftës së II-të Imperialiste Botërore, duke shkaktuar miliona refugjatë, të plagosur dhe qindra mijëra të vdekur. Kryesisht fëmijë nga familje të varfra popullore, të cilët ose nuk mundën t'i shpëtonin rekrutimit ushtarak, ose u përfshinë në luftë «vullnetarisht» për shkak të pagesave të larta.

KKE zbuloi shkaqet e kësaj gjakderdhjeje, duke hedhur poshtë si pretekstet e bllokut euro-NATO-ik, rreth «mbrojtjes së sovranitetit të Ukrainës» apo të «zgjedhjes së lirë të aleatëve» apo të «demokracisë kundrejt autoritarizmit», ashtu edhe pretekstet që shfrytëzoi udhëheqja e Rusisë për pushtimin e papranueshëm ushtarak në Ukrainë, rreth «luftës antifashiste» apo «mbrojtjes së rusofonëve» apo «çmilitarizimit të Ukrainës». KKE nxori në pah se konflikti nuk ka të bëjë me asgjë nga sa më sipër, por me kontrollin e burimeve të pasura, rrugëve të energjisë dhe sferave të ndikimit midis bllokut euro-atlantik dhe aksit imperialist euro-aziatik që po formohet. Së fundmi, dhe pa retushime, të gjithë pamë pazarin Trump-Zelenski-Putin për burimet e rralla të Ukrainës, gjë që rrëzoi edhe iluzionet e fundit që kishin disa.

Në këto 4 vite të luftës imperialiste, KKE priu në Greqi në betejën kundër përfshirjes së vendit tonë në luftë, në kuadër të bllokut imperialist euro-atlantik. Organizoi demonstrata të rëndësishme kundër luftës, jashtë bazave ushtarake amerikane në qytetet Aleksandrupoli, Sudha të Kretës, Larisa etj. Mbështeti aktivitete përkatëse të sindikatave dhe organizatave masive, të lëvizjes kundër luftës dhe kundër imperializmit. Bllokoi rrugë, hekurudha, porte që u përdorën nga forcat e NATO-s. Votoi kundër marrëveshjes për zgjerimin e bazave ushtarake amerikane dhe shpenzimeve ushtarake për NATO-n. Në Parlamentin Europian, kur partitë ND, PASOK, SYRIZA dhe ekstremistët e djathtë së bashku me partitë e “së majtës” evropiane mbështetën ekstazën luftarake të imperialistëve europiane, KKE votoi kundër dhe e denoncoi këtë fakt para popullit. Kundërshtoi dhe dënoi si dërgimin e materialeve luftarake të Forcave të Armatosura greke në Ukrainë, ashtu edhe stërvitjen e ushtarakëve ukrainas.

Më gjerësisht sot shqetëson kohëzgjatja dhe dimensionet e mëtejshme që mund të marrë lufta dhe nëse ajo mund të «përqafojë» dhe të «bashkohet» me dhjetëra përleshje të tjera luftarake në botë, si p.sh. shih Iran-SHBA. Me fjalë të tjera, të rritet edhe më shumë dhe të çojë në përdorimin e armëve më shkatërruese, deri edhe të armëve bërthamore.

Lufta nuk është një fenomen natyror, si tërmeti, por shoqëror, dhe në kapitalizëm, i cili është kundërshtari i popujve, ajo është e identifikuar me antagonizmat që çojnë në luftëra imperialiste për gjuetinë e fitimit të monopolit, kontrollin e tregjeve dhe burimeve të pasura, vendburimeve energjetike dhe rrugëve të transportit të energjisë dhe mallrave, mbishfrytëzimin e punëtorëve dhe popujve.

Pavarësisht «bisedimeve të ndryshme për paqe» apo armëpushimeve të mundshme të përkohshme, e vërteta është se për herë të parë pas Luftës së II-të Imperialiste Botërore, njerëzimi gjendet aq afër mundësisë së një Lufte të III-të Imperialiste Botërore. Ky konstatim bazohet si në përplasjen e ashpër SHBA-Kinë për primatin në sistemin botëror imperialist, ashtu edhe në përgatitjen intensive luftarake të forcave imperialiste dhe poleve imperialiste rivale, e cila kujton në masë të madhe periudhën përkatëse të mes-luftës. Le të mos na duket i çuditshëm fakti se brenda aleancave imperialiste, si ato të NATO-s dhe BE-së, shfaqen kundërshti. Këto kundërshti shkaktohen nga zhvillimi i pabarabartë kapitalist dhe marrëdhëniet e pabarabarta midis shteteve kapitaliste. Aleancat mund të ndryshojnë, të riorganizohen, por ADN-ja e tyre klasore mbetet: Është baza ekonomike e shteteve kapitaliste që i përbëjnë ato dhe «ngrënia» mes tyre është për interesat e pakicës, të monopoleve të tyre. Prandaj dhe dilema «me kampin euro-atlantik apo me atë euro-aziatik» është e rreme dhe nuk ka të bëjë me interesat e popujve.

Popujt janë ata që derdhin gjakun e tyre në luftërat imperialiste, bëhen «mish për top» që të fitojnë nga industritë e luftës deri te ato ndërtuese të «rindërtimit».

Le të mos u besojmë qeveritarëve të çdo lloji, se gjoja jemi si vend një «ishull sigurie dhe stabiliteti» në një botë që digjet, kalbet dhe zhytet në humnerën e luftërave! Ishuj të tillë nuk ekzistojnë në kapitalizëm! SHBA, NATO, BE, çdo aleancë imperialiste nuk janë «porte të qeta», siç na thonë. Na e bërtet këtë në mënyrë shurdhuese rasti i Grenlandës, «zonat gri» në detin Egje, e ashtuquajtura «Atdheu i Kaltër» etj.

Tani është e nevojshme të forcohet lufta e popullit dhe e rinisë që të mbyllen bazat Nato-amerikane të vdekjes, të kthehen në atdhe repartet greke të forcave të armatosura që ndodhen jashtë kufijve, të forcohet lufta e punëtorëve për shkëputjen e vendit nga ndërhyrjet imperialiste, luftërat, aleancat e NATO-BE, me popullin sovran në vendin tonë.
