Letter from the KKE to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Venezuela regarding the devastating earthquake

Dear Comrades,

The KKE would like to express its sorrow and unwavering solidarity with the people of Venezuela in the wake of the recent powerful earthquake that has caused so much devastation and loss of life in your country. We are monitoring the significant efforts being made to locate and rescue survivors.

Tragically, it has once again been demonstrated that it is the poor and working classes who bear the brunt of the consequences of sacrificing essential earthquake protection measures for the sake of capitalist profit, as well as shortages in infrastructure and civil protection personnel.

Please convey our condolences and solidarity to the working class and people of Venezuela.

Carta del KKE al Comité Central del Partido Comunista de Venezuela sobre el devastador terremoto

Apreciados camaradas:

El KKE quiere expresar su más sentido pésame y su total solidaridad con el pueblo de Venezuela por las víctimas y los graves daños causados por el reciente terremoto en su país. Estamos siguiendo de cerca el gran esfuerzo que se está realizando para localizar y rescatar a los supervivientes.

Una vez más, se demuestra de forma trágica que son los sectores populares más pobres los que sufren las graves consecuencias de sacrificar medidas esenciales de protección antisísmica en aras del beneficio capitalista, así como de las carencias de infraestructuras y personal relacionadas con la protección civil.

Por favor, transmite a la clase obrera y a los sectores populares de tu país nuestro más sentido pésame y solidaridad.

Солидарность КПГ с народом и Компартией Венесуэлы в связи с жертвами и огромными разрушениями от сильного землетрясения

Отдел международных отношений ЦК КПГ направил послание солидарности Центральному комитету Коммунистической партии Венесуэлы, выразив солидарность с народом страны, пострадавшим от недавнего сильного землетрясения.  Ниже приводится полный текст послания: 

«Дорогие товарищи!  КПГ скорбит вместе с народом Венесуэлы и заявляет о своей полной солидарности с ним в связи с жертвами и огромными разрушениями от недавнего сильного землетрясения в вашей стране. Мы видим, какие большие усилия прилагаются, чтобы найти и спасти выживших.

Вновь — и трагическим образом — подтверждается: всю тяжесть последствий несут на себе именно бедные народные слои. Действенные меры противосейсмической защиты приносятся на алтарь капиталистической прибыли, а гражданской обороне не хватает инфраструктуры и кадров — за это и расплачивается народ.

Просим передать рабочему классу и народным слоям вашей страны наши соболезнования и нашу солидарность».
