Mass rally of military personnel outside the Greek Parliament

On 8 January 2026, thousands of active and retired military personnel, non-commissioned officers and officers alike, along with trade unions, student unions, and women’s associations, held a large rally outside the Greek Parliament to protest a bill proposed by the Ministry of Defence. As many speakers at the rally emphasized, the bill is essentially aimed at supporting the war economy within the framework of the “NATO 2030” agenda.

A delegation of the KKE, led by Dimitris Koutsoumbas, GS of the CC of the KKE, attended the rally and expressed the Party’s solidarity. Speaking to media representatives,       D. Koutsoumbas stated: "We support the just struggle of military personnel of all ranks; their demands are entirely just. Their strength lies in the unity of the working people who stand by them in this magnificent struggle. The government’s plans will fail”.

Крупный митинг военнослужащих у стен греческого парламента

Тысячи кадровых военных и отставников как младшего командного состава, так и офицеров, провели 8 января совместно с рабочими профсоюзами, студенческими и женскими организациями массовый митинг у стен греческого парламента, протестуя против законопроекта Министерства обороны. Как отметили многие выступавшие, ядром данного законопроекта является поддержка военной экономики в рамках повестки «НАТО-2030».

На митинге присутствовала делегация КПГ во главе с Генсеком ЦК КПГ Димитрисом Куцумбасом, который выразил солидарность Компартии Греции с их борьбой, подчеркнув в своем заявлении для СМИ: «Мы поддерживаем справедливую борьбу военнослужащих всех званий, все их требования обоснованны. В этой борьбе их сила — в единстве с трудовым народом, который стоит плечом к плечу с ними в этой грандиозной битве. Планы правительства не пройдут»

Gran manifestación de militares frente al parlamento griego

Miles de militares en activo y retirados, suboficiales y oficiales, junto con sindicatos obreros, asociaciones estudiantiles y asociaciones de mujeres, realizaron el 8 de enero de 2026 una gran concentración frente al parlamento griego para protestar contra un proyecto de ley del Ministerio de Defensa. Como señalaron muchos oradores en la concentración, este proyecto de ley tiene como objetivo fundamental apoyar la economía de guerra en el marco de la Agenda “OTAN 2030”.

A la manifestación asistió una delegación del KKE, encabezada por el Secretario General del Comité Central del KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumpas, quien expresó la solidaridad del KKE y destacó ante los representantes de los medios de comunicación lo siguiente: “Apoyamos la justa lucha de los militares de todos los rangos; todas sus reivindicaciones son justas. En esta lucha, su fuerza es el pueblo trabajador unido que está con ellos en esta grandiosa lucha. Los planes del gobierno no saldrán adelante”.

Großkundgebung von Militärangehörigen vor dem griechischen Parlament

Tausende aktive und ehemalige Militärangehörige, Unteroffiziere und Offiziere sowie Gewerkschaften, Studentenvereinigungen und Frauenverbände versammelten sich am 8. Januar 2026 zu einer großen Kundgebung vor dem griechischen Parlament, um gegen einen Gesetzentwurf des Verteidigungsministeriums zu protestieren. Dieser Gesetzentwurf, wie viele Redner bei der Kundgebung betonten, zielt „im Kern darauf ab, die Kriegswirtschaft im Rahmen der Agenda „NATO 2030” zu unterstützen“.

An der Kundgebung nahm eine Delegation der KKE unter der Leitung des Generalsekretärs des ZK der KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, teil, der die Solidarität der KKE zum Ausdruck brachte und gegenüber den Medienvertretern betonte: „Wir unterstützen den gerechten Kampf der Militärangehörigen aller Dienstgrade, ihre Forderungen sind alle berechtigt. In diesem Kampf werden sie durch das vereinte werktätige Volk gestärkt, das ihnen in diesem großartigen Kampf zur Seite steht. Die Pläne der Regierung werden nicht durchkommen.”
