Dear Friends,
23rd March as Anti-Imperialist Day:
The National Executive calls upon all party units to observe 23rd March, 2026 (Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev Martyrdom Day) as Anti-Imperialist Day. The supreme sacrifice and courage of Martyrs fighting against British imperialism has to be remembered. The imperialist of the present day particularly USA is trying to wage wars, Venezuela, Iran, Palestine (Gaza), etc. and dictate the whole world to accept their diktat. This has to be opposed and for that will to sacrifice and courage is needed. Hence, the National Executive calls upon all party units to observe 23rd March as an Anti-Imperialist Day.
Padayatra for revival of MNREGA April 10th to 12th, 2026 in Andhra Pradesh
The Communist Party of India, A.P. unit will undertake a padayatra from April 10 to 12, 2026, in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, starting from Bandlapalli, Narpala (R)—the place where the programme was originally launched.
The present government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been attempting to dilute MNREGA and move towards scrapping it. While the government now seeks to continue it as a scheme, it is no longer being upheld as a legal right of agricultural workers, particularly the rural poor.
In this context, the National Executive Committee of the CPI has decided to organize a padayatra from Anantapur to Bandlapalli. Workers, along with party leaders and BKMU leaders, will participate in this programme.
CPI National General Secretary, Comrade D. Raja, will attend as the chief guest on the concluding day, April 12, 2026. Other prominent leaders participating in the padayatra include Comrade Annie Raja, Comrade K. Ramakrishna, Comrade Palla Venkata Reddy, BKMU leader Comrade Gulzar Singh Goria, and Comrade Nirmal.
State CPI Secretary G. Eswaraiah, D. Jagadeesh, BKMU leader Jalli Wilson, G. Koteswara Rao and K. Sekhar also participate in this padayatra.
All other states are also requested to organise protest for renewal of MNREGA.
