Statement of Solidarity with Jordanian Communists: End Political Repression Now

The Communist Party of Pakistan strongly condemns the arbitrary arrest and continued detention of comrades Omar Awad and Bahaa Aldin Elayyan, along with the earlier detention of Osama Zain Aldin, by the authorities in Jordan. These detentions are carried out without charges, due process or access to legal counsel are clear acts of political repression aimed at silencing organized opposition by pro-people forces. 

These comrades are not individuals but represent a political current that has consistently opposed imperialist domination and Zionism in the region and has stood firmly with the people of Palestine. Their arrest is not accidental. It reflects a calculated move to weaken forces that expose the realities of occupation, war and imperialist control over the region’s political and economic direction. 

The ongoing aggression and expansionism of Israel, backed unconditionally by the United States and reinforced through strategic covers of alliances such as the NATO, form the central pillar of instability and repression in the Middle East. Zionism is inseparable from this wider imperialist framework. It is sustained not only through military force on the ground but also through a network of political, economic and security arrangements upheld by regional regimes against their own people. 

In this structure, the role of the Jordanian state is not neutral. By targeting those who challenge imperialism and stand with Palestine, it acts to maintain an order that suppresses resistance and protects imperialist interests. The repression of communist forces is therefore directly linked to the broader effort to contain dissent and prevent the emergence of organized, class-based opposition. This case must be understood as part of a wider pattern, where imperialist interests deepen, repression follows. 

CPP demands the immediate and unconditional release of all detained comrades and call for an end to all forms of persecution against the Jordanian Communist Party and all forces resisting imperialism and occupation.
