CPP Condemns U.S. Imperialist Provocation Against Cuba

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Pakistan strongly condemns the armed infiltration incident near the coast of Villa Clara province in Cuba and describes it as a dangerous and provocative act of U.S. imperialism. According to reports, a Florida-registered speedboat carrying armed Cuban exiles coming from the United States attempted to enter Cuban territorial waters. When Cuban border guards tried to stop them, the intruders opened fire. In the ensuing defensive response, several attackers were killed and injured, and weapons and military equipment were recovered from the boat.

The Communist Party of Pakistan believes that this incident is not an isolated event but part of a continuous imperialist policy through which the U.S. ruling class has been trying for more than six decades to weaken and destroy the Cuban socialist revolution. History bears witness that in 1961, under the sponsorship of the CIA, the Bay of Pigs invasion was launched in an attempt to overthrow the revolutionary government of Cuba using mercenary forces. However, the Cuban people and revolutionary forces inflicted a humiliating defeat on this imperialist aggression.

Even after that, U.S. imperialism continued its attempts to undermine the Cuban revolution through sabotage, terrorism, economic blockade, and assassination plots. Dozens of assassination attempts were made against Comrade Fidel Castro. Today the U.S. imperialist establishment remains committed to the same policies. On the one hand, the U.S. government is intensifying its cruel economic blockade against Cuba, causing severe hardship for the Cuban people, and on the other hand it is sponsoring armed infiltration through mercenary forces. U.S. intervention against Venezuela and the increasingly aggressive policies in the region are also part of the same imperialist strategy aimed at weakening progressive and anti-imperialist forces in Latin America.

The Communist Party of Pakistan firmly believes that the Cuban people have the full right to defend their national sovereignty, independence, and socialist system. The Communist Party of Pakistan stands with the people of Cuba. U.S. imperialism has no right to impose armed infiltration, terrorism, or economic blockade against any sovereign nation.

The Communist Party of Pakistan calls upon the workers, students, intellectuals, and all progressive forces of Pakistan to express their full solidarity with the Cuban people and to join anti-imperialist forces around the world in demanding that the unjust U.S. blockade against Cuba be immediately lifted.

All imperialist conspiracies and provocations against Cuba must be stopped. The sovereignty of all nations and the right of peoples to self-determination must be respected.

The Cuban Revolution is a symbol of the struggle of workers and peasants. Imperialist powers failed to defeat it in the past, and they will not be able to break the determination of the Cuban people in the future.
