Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) Statement on the UN Vote
to End the US Embargo Against Cuba

The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) warmly congratulates the Republic of Cuba and the Cuban people for yet another resounding victory at the United Nations General Assembly, where the resolution titled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba” was adopted by 165 votes in favour, seven against, and twelve abstentions.

Although the resolution remains non-binding, it powerfully reaffirms the international community’s overwhelming solidarity with the Cuban people and its continued condemnation of the unjust and inhumane blockade imposed by the United States for over six decades.

The CPS joins progressive and peace-loving peoples of the world in calling upon all nations that stand in solidarity with Cuba to intensify efforts and exert meaningful pressure on the United States to end this illegal embargo. The embargo violates international law, undermines Cuba’s right to self-determination, and obstructs its free participation in global economic, commercial, and financial systems.

Cuba’s sovereignty, independence, and freedom to trade and develop without coercion must be upheld and guaranteed by the international community. The CPS stands firmly with the Cuban people and their revolutionary government in their just struggle against imperialist aggression and for a world founded on equality, justice, and mutual respect among nations.

Long live Cuba!
Long live international solidarity!
Down with imperialism
