PCV rejects stigmatization campaign against popular and leftist forces

Tribuna Popular— On Monday, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) denounced an “anti-democratic and authoritarian offensive” by Nicolás Maduro's administration against political, social, trade union, and academic organizations that have remained critical of his policies. 

In a press statement, leader Pedro Eusse warned that, using the threat from the US government as justification, the Venezuelan authorities “have intensified attacks and stigmatization campaigns” against popular forces and social movements “in order to justify the deepening of an economic and labor policy that is entirely at the service of capital.” 

“The government seeks to maintain a false narrative that it is leftist and socialist, while persecuting, criminalizing, and stigmatizing those who raise the banners of social justice and the defense of human rights,” he said. 

The PCV spokesperson denounced the arbitrary detention and temporary forced disappearance of Nelson Torrealba, secretary general of the Aragua Teachers' Union, and Roberto Campero, a union leader, who remain isolated, without access to basic procedural guarantees. 

“These events are part of a systematic practice of persecution against leaders of the teaching profession and the Venezuelan labor movement,” Eusse said.

He also questioned the recent public statements made by the highest authorities, including the president of the National Assembly, the interior minister, leaders of the ruling party, and Nicolás Maduro himself, against human rights organizations, alternative media, and intellectuals. 

“These are patterns of criminalization that seek to justify possible repressive actions against left-wing organizations and personalities who do not bow to official policy,” Eusse warned. 

The PCV called on the revolutionary, democratic, and progressive forces of Latin America and the world to remain vigilant and to speak out against this new attack on human rights, trade unionism, and political dissent in Venezuela.

Tribuna Popular— El Buró Político del Comité Central del Partido Comunista de Venezuela (PCV) denunció el lunes una «ofensiva antidemocrática y autoritaria» por parte de la administración de Nicolás Maduro, dirigida contra organizaciones políticas, sociales, sindicales y académicas que se han mantenido críticas frente a sus políticas.

En una declaración de prensa, el dirigente Pedro Eusse advirtió que, utilizando con justificación la amenaza proveniente del gobierno de Estados Unidos, las autoridades venezolanas «han intensificado ataques y campañas de estigmatización» contra fuerzas populares y movimientos sociales «con el fin de justificar la profundización de una política económica y laboral absolutamente al servicio del capital».

«El gobierno pretende mantener una falsa narrativa de que es de izquierda y socialista, mientras persigue, criminaliza y estigmatiza a quienes levantan banderas de justicia social y defensa de los derechos humanos», expresó.

El vocero del PCV denunció la detención arbitraria y desaparición forzada temporal de Nelson Torrealba, secretario general del Sindicato de Trabajadores de la Enseñanza en Aragua, y Roberto Campero, directivo sindical, quienes permanecen incomunicados, sin acceso a garantías procesales básicas.

«Estos hechos se suman a una práctica sistemática de persecución contra dirigentes del magisterio y del movimiento obrero venezolano», acotó Eusse.

Asimismo, cuestionó los recientes señalamientos públicos realizados desde las más altas instancias del poder, incluyendo al presidente de la Asamblea Nacional, el ministro de Interior, dirigentes del partido de gobierno y el propio Nicolás Maduro, contra organizaciones de derechos humanos, medios alternativos e intelectuales.

«Se trata de matrices de criminalización que buscan justificar eventuales acciones represivas contra organizaciones y personalidades de izquierda que no se pliegan a la política oficial», alertó Eusse.

El PCV hizo un llamado a las fuerzas revolucionarias, democráticas y progresistas de América Latina y del mundo a mantenerse vigilantes y a pronunciarse frente a esta nueva arremetida contra los derechos humanos, el sindicalismo y la disidencia política en Venezuela.
