Solidarity with the people of Turkey and the TKP 

The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) expresses its firm solidarity with the people of Turkey following the recent wave of repression and arrests by the government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan against the massive and legitimate protests against the rise of authoritarianism of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), which undermines the democratic rights of the Turkish people to political participation and to elect their representatives to public office.  

In particular, we express our solidarity with the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), which has also been persecuted by the reactionary AKP government, with the arbitrary arrest of several of its members during the popular protests in defense of the democratic rights of the Turkish people. 

We condemn the silence of Nicolás Maduro, ally and accomplice of Erdogan's reactionary government, demonstrating the falsity of his anti-imperialist discourse. Both governments ─because of their authoritarian, anti-democratic and anti-popular character─ are also servile to the plans of domination of the US and European monopolies.  

From the PCV we demand the immediate release of the militants of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), and of the more than 2,000 people arrested during the legitimate popular protests. The reactionary violence of the government must stop and the political and democratic rights of the Turkish people must be restored.

Solidaridad con el pueblo de Turquía y el TKP 

El Buró Político del Comité Central del Partido Comunista de Venezuela (PCV) expresa su firme solidaridad con el pueblo de Turquía, tras la reciente ola de represión y detenciones ejercidas por el gobierno de Recep Tayyip Erdogan contra las masivas y legítimas movilizaciones de protestas por el auge del autoritarismo del del Partido de la Justicia y el Desarrollo (AKP), que atenta contra los derechos democráticos del pueblo turco a la participación política y elegir sus representantes en cargos públicos.  

De manera particular, expresamos nuestra solidaridad con el Partido Comunista de Turquía (TKP) que también ha sido objeto de persecución por parte del gobierno reaccionario del AKP, con la arbitraria detención de varios de sus miembros durante las protestas populares por la defensa de los derechos democráticos del pueblo turco. 

Condenamos el silencio de Nicolás Maduro, aliado y cómplice del gobierno reaccionario de Erdogan, demostrando la falsedad de su discurso antiimperialista. Ambos gobiernos ─por su carácter autoritario, antidemocrático y antipopular─ son también serviles a los planes de dominación de los monopolios estadounidenses y europeos.  

Desde el PCV exigimos la inmediata liberación de los militantes del Partido Comunista de Turquía (TKP), y de las más de 2.000 personas detenidas durante las legítimas protestas populares. La violencia reaccionaria del gobierno debe cesar y los derechos políticos y democráticos del pueblo turco deben ser restablecidos.
