Solidarity With the TKP and the Comrades Arrested and Injured in the Struggle Against NATO

A new NATO Summit will be held on July 7-8, in Ankara (Turkey). The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has organized an anti-NATO Summit in the country, with hundreds of activities, public events, exhibitions, demonstrations, and even an international event, running from July 4 to 12. 

The imperialist NATO event is marked by the reinforcement of internal control within the country. The Turkish Erdoğan Government has increased the level of repression, including a ban on mobilizations from late June until the end of the Atlantist Summit. 

Despite the heavy surveillance, the TKP has evidenced the Turkish communists will not fall down to State threats and violence. 

This Sunday —July 5— massive demonstrations have been held in six Turkish cities. They have been violently attacked by the police. Hundreds of TKP comrades were arrested, and dozens were injured (head wounds, broken bones, and even cardiac complications) in the demonstration in Ankara — banned by the AKP Government.

The PCTE sends a message of solidarity to the TKP and its militants, which we extend to the comrades arrested and injured, as well as to their families and friends. The PCTE denounces police violence, surveillance, and the AKP repression against the TKP for raising the anti-NATO banner high, for its resolve in the struggle against imperialism and their wars, and for its resounding defiance to NATO. 

Immediate freedom without charges for all the arrested!

Fighting against NATO is not a crime; it is a honor and a revolutionary duty!

Solidaridad con el TKP y con los camaradas detenidos y heridos en la lucha contra la OTAN

Durante los días 7 y 8 de julio en Ankara (Turquía) se celebrará una nueva cumbre de la OTAN. El Partido Comunista de Turquía (TKP) ha organizado una cumbre anti-OTAN en el país, con cientos de actividades, actos públicos, exposiciones, manifestaciones e incluso un evento internacional, que se alargan desde el día 4 al 12 de julio. 

El evento imperialista de la OTAN ha estado marcado por un reforzamiento en el control interno del país. El Gobierno turco de Erdogan ha aumentado los niveles de represión, incluyendo la prohibición de la movilización desde finales de junio y hasta que termine la cumbre atlantista. 

A pesar de la enorme vigilancia, el TKP ha demostrado que los y las comunistas en Turquía no sucumbirán ante las amenazas y la violencia estatal.

Este domingo 5 de julio se han celebrado masivas manifestaciones en seis ciudades turcas que han sido violentamente atacadas por la policía. En la manifestación de Ankara, prohibida por el gobierno de AKP, cientos de camaradas del TKP han sido detenidos, y decenas han sido heridos (heridas en la cabeza, huesos rotos, e incluso complicaciones cardiacas). 

El PCTE envía al TKP y su militancia un mensaje de solidaridad, que extendemos a los camaradas detenidos y heridos, así como a sus familias y amigos. El PCTE denuncia la violencia policial, la vigilancia y la represión de AKP contra TKP por levantar alto la bandera anti-OTAN, por su firmeza en la lucha contra el imperialismo y sus guerras, y por su contundente desafío a la OTAN.
