Communists of Catalonia in defence of the Cuban Revolution and Raúl Castro

Yesterday, American imperialism levelled a whole series of far-fetched accusations against former Cuban President Raúl Castro, accusing him of events that took place in 1996, at a time when the country was defending itself against the actions of terrorist groups linked to the US government and to the Miami mafia.

In a shameful intervention, Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied that the illegal blockade the US maintains against the island has any negative effect on the Cuban people, and made the hypocritical offer of 100 million dollars to Cuba, as if the situation the country is going through had nothing to do with them.

It is therefore an operation aimed at creating a pseudo-legal framework to justify an intervention or a kidnapping on Cuban territory, such as the one carried out against President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores. This operation seeks to provoke terror among the Cuban population, and attempts to foment a coup d'état within the country, especially now that the US are seeking some kind of victory after the humiliation suffered in the war of aggression against Iran.

In light of this, Communists of Catalonia wish to state the following:

That the most criminal president in the history of the most criminal country in the world has no moral authority to decide on the future of Cubans.

We call on the international community to prevent this future, completely illegal and immoral intervention.

We call on all democrats around the world to demand that their governments take action to prevent this intervention, and to end the blockade that the island has been suffering from for more than 60 years.

We declare to imperialism that in the face of this, they will have the communists of the world against them, and that we will only redouble our solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.

We also call on the people of Catalonia to participate in the rally in front of the US consulate in Barcelona, on  May 23rd at 12 noon, as well as in any future mobilisations that may be called.

Comunistas de Cataluña en defensa de la Revolución Cubana y de Raúl Castro

Ayer, el imperialismo estadounidense lanzó  una serie de acusaciones infundadas contra el expresidente cubano Raúl Castro, achacándole hechos que tuvieron lugar en 1996, en un momento en que el país se defendía de las acciones de grupos terroristas vinculados al Gobierno de Estados Unidos y a la mafia de Miami.

En una intervención vergonzosa, el secretario de Estado Marco Rubio, negó que el bloqueo ilegal que Estados Unidos mantiene contra la isla tenga ningún efecto negativo sobre el pueblo cubano y realizó la hipócrita oferta de 100 millones de dólares a Cuba, como si la situación que atraviesa el país no tuviera nada que ver con ellos.

Se trata, por tanto, de una operación destinada a crear un marco pseudojurídico que justifique una intervención o un secuestro en territorio cubano, como el que se llevó a cabo contra el presidente Nicolás Maduro y la primera dama Cilia Flores. Esta operación busca infundir terror entre la población cubana y fomentar un golpe de Estado dentro del país, especialmente ahora que Estados Unidos busca algún tipo de victoria tras la humillación sufrida en la guerra de agresión contra Irán.

Delante de esto, Comunistas de Cataluña queremos manifestar lo siguiente:

Que el presidente más criminal de la historia del país más criminal del mundo no tiene autoridad moral para decidir sobre el futuro de los cubanos.

Hacemos un llamamiento a la comunidad internacional para que impida esta intervención futura, totalmente ilegal e inmoral.

Hacemos un llamamiento a todos los demócratas del mundo para que exijan a sus gobiernos que tomen medidas para impedir esta intervención y para poner fin al bloqueo que la isla lleva sufriendo desde hace más de 60 años.

Declaramos al imperialismo que, ante esto, tendrá a los comunistas del mundo en su contra, y que no haremos más que redoblar nuestra solidaridad con la Revolución Cubana.

Hacemos también un llamamiento al pueblo de Cataluña para que participe en la concentración frente al consulado de EE.UU. en Barcelona, el 23 de mayo a las 12 del mediodía, así como en cualquier futura movilización que se convoque.
