Message of Solidarity from the Egyptian Communist Party to the Workers' Party of Tunisia

To Comrade Hamma Hammami, Secretary-General of the Workers' Party of Tunisia,
To the leadership, members, and militants of the Workers' Party of Tunisia,

The Egyptian Communist Party has followed with deep outrage and condemnation the criminal threats and the blatant incitement to assassinate Comrade Hamma Hammami, accompanied by a fascistic campaign of hatred, defamation, and takfiri rhetoric targeting one of the most prominent leaders of the workers' and democratic movement in Tunisia and the Arab world.

The public call for the assassination of a political leader because of his political convictions and positions is not merely an attack on Comrade Hamma Hammami personally. It is an attack on the people's right to organize, to express their views, and to struggle for their aspirations. It is an attempt to terrorize all those who fight for freedom, democracy, and social justice. Moreover, it evokes the dangerous atmosphere that preceded the political assassinations of the martyrs Chokri Belaid and Mohamed Brahmi. This places full responsibility upon the Tunisian authorities to guarantee the safety of Comrade Hamma Hammami and to prosecute without delay all those responsible for inciting, promoting, or encouraging such terrorist threats.

The Egyptian Communist Party expresses its full and unconditional solidarity with Comrade Hamma Hammami and with the Workers' Party of Tunisia. We affirm that any attack against communist, workers', and progressive militants in any Arab country is an attack against the entire Arab progressive movement. Such attacks will only strengthen our unity and reinforce our determination to continue the struggle against authoritarianism, exploitation, terrorism, and fascism.

The Egyptian Communist Party further stresses that the unity of the Arab communist and workers' parties, together with all democratic and progressive forces, has become a historic necessity in confronting repression and authoritarian rule, resisting the forces of obscurantism, sectarian incitement, and fascism, defending the interests of the working class and all working people, safeguarding democratic rights and public freedoms, and protecting the independence and sovereignty of our nations against all forms of domination and reaction.

We call upon communist and workers' parties, progressive organizations, democratic forces, and all advocates of peace and social justice throughout the world to raise their voices in condemnation of these criminal threats and to stand in active solidarity with the Workers' Party of Tunisia and Comrade Hamma Hammami in defense of the right to peaceful political struggle and the democratic future of the Tunisian people.

The Egyptian Communist Party is confident that threats, intimidation, and terrorism will never succeed in breaking the will of committed militants. The banner of the struggle for freedom, democracy, and social justice will remain raised, regardless of the scale of repression and incitement.

Long live international solidarity among peoples.
Long live the unity of the Arab communist and workers' parties.

رسالة تضامن من الحزب الشيوعي المصري إلى حزب العمال التونسي

إلى الرفيق المناضل حمّة الهمامي، الأمين العام لحزب العمال التونسي،
وإلى قيادة ومناضلات ومناضلي حزب العمال التونسي،

يتابع الحزب الشيوعي المصري بالغضب والاستنكار التهديدات الإجرامية والتحريض السافر على اغتيال الرفيق حمّة الهمامي، وما صاحبها من خطاب تكفيري وتحريضي وفاشي يستهدف أحد أبرز رموز الحركة العمالية والديمقراطية في تونس والوطن العربي.

إن الدعوة العلنية إلى اغتيال قائد سياسي بسبب مواقفه الفكرية والسياسية ليست اعتداءً على شخص الرفيق حمّة الهمامي فحسب، وإنما هي اعتداء على حق الشعوب في التنظيم والتعبير والنضال، ومحاولة لإرهاب كل القوى المناضلة من أجل الحرية والديمقراطية والعدالة الاجتماعية. وهي تذكير خطير بالمناخ الذي سبق الجرائم السياسية التي أودت بحياة المناضلين الشهيدين شكري بلعيد ومحمد البراهمي، وهو ما يفرض على السلطات التونسية مسؤولية كاملة في حماية حياة الرفيق حمّة الهمامي، وملاحقة كل من حرض أو دعا أو ساهم في نشر هذا الخطاب الإرهابي.

إن الحزب الشيوعي المصري يعلن تضامنه الكامل وغير المشروط مع الرفيق حمّة الهمامي، ومع حزب العمال التونسي، ويؤكد أن استهداف المناضلين الشيوعيين والعماليين والتقدميين في أي بلد عربي هو استهداف للحركة التقدمية العربية بأسرها، ولن يؤدي إلا إلى تعزيز وحدة نضالها وإصرارها على مواصلة الكفاح ضد الاستبداد والاستغلال والإرهاب والفاشية.

كما يؤكد الحزب الشيوعي المصري أن وحدة نضال الأحزاب الشيوعية والعمالية العربية، إلى جانب سائر القوى الديمقراطية والتقدمية، تمثل اليوم ضرورة تاريخية لمواجهة مشاريع القمع والاستبداد، والتصدي لقوى الظلام والتكفير والفاشية، والدفاع عن مصالح الطبقة العاملة والكادحين، وعن الحريات العامة والحقوق الديمقراطية، وعن استقلال الأوطان وسيادة شعوبها في مواجهة مختلف أشكال الهيمنة والرجعية.

وندعو الأحزاب الشيوعية والعمالية والقوى التقدمية، عربياً وأممياً، إلى رفع صوتها عالياً رفضاً لهذه الجريمة السياسية، وإلى ممارسة كل أشكال التضامن مع حزب العمال التونسي والرفيق حمّة الهمامي، دفاعاً عن الحق في النضال السياسي السلمي، وعن مستقبل ديمقراطي يليق بالشعب التونسي وشعوب منطقتنا.

إن الحزب الشيوعي المصري على ثقة بأن التهديد والإرهاب لن ينجحا في كسر إرادة المناضلين، وأن راية النضال من أجل الحرية والديمقراطية والعدالة الاجتماعية ستظل مرفوعة، مهما اشتدت حملات القمع والتحريض.

عاشت الأممية والتضامن بين الشعوب.
عاشت وحدة نضال الأحزاب الشيوعية والعمالية العربية.
كل التضامن مع الرفيق حمّة الهمامي وحزب العمال التونسي.
