The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) most strongly condemns the imperialist aggression carried out on the territory of Iran by the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel. This act represents a gross violation of international law, endangers the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Iran, and contributes to a dangerous escalation of conflict in the Middle East.

The United States and the Zionist regime seek to provoke chaos and bloodshed in the Middle East in order to control markets and natural resources. Following the attack on Iran, Tehran’s legitimate response is the bombing of surrounding American bases and bases in Israel. Given that the United States maintains numerous military bases in the region and serves as the key sponsor of Israeli military power, it bears the greatest responsibility for the escalation of the conflict.

NKPJ opposes not only military aggression, but also the unlawful, unilateral sanctions imposed on Iran, which affect only ordinary people while leaving elites untouched. It is particularly ironic that the attack occurred at a time when indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States were underway. It has become common practice for the United States to conduct diplomatic talks as a prelude to carrying out aggressive action.

NKPJ strongly condemns the attacks on peacetime nuclear facilities and civilian infrastructure in Iran. As a signatory to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, Iran has the right to develop nuclear energy for civilian purposes. It is hypocritical that this right is denied precisely by Israel and the United States—countries that possess arsenals of nuclear, chemical, and other prohibited weapons, including cluster munitions and warheads with depleted uranium.

This aggression is part of a broader strategy by Western powers and their regional allies, primarily Israel and the Gulf monarchies, to impose full control over the Middle East.

NKPJ firmly condemns the U.S.–Israeli aggression against Iran and affirms that the people of Iran have the right to fight for their independence and sovereignty.
