  • Serbia, New Communist Party of Yugoslavia En Europe Communist and workers' parties

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia expresses its full solidarity with the Jordanian Communist Party and strongly condemns the arrest of members of its Political Bureau, Dr. Omar Awad and Comrade Osama Zain Aldin, as well as the earlier detention of Comrade Bahaa Aldin Hisham Ahmad.

We view these actions as a clear act of political repression aimed at silencing principled voices that defend the interests of the working class and the broader people. The arbitrary nature of these arrests, carried out without legal grounds, represents a serious violation of fundamental democratic rights and freedoms, including the right to political organization and free expression.

The targeting of communist activists and leaders is not only an attack on one party, but on the entire progressive and democratic movement. Such measures reveal the persistence of policies that seek to suppress dissent and restrict the legitimate activities of political organizations.

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia firmly supports the demand for the immediate release of all detained comrades. We also call upon the authorities to cease all forms of repression against political and trade union activity and to respect the constitutional and international obligations related to human rights and public freedoms.

We join the call for all progressive forces, political parties, trade unions, and human rights organizations to raise their voices in defense of the detained comrades and to stand against repression and political persecution.

International solidarity remains a powerful tool in the struggle for justice, democracy, and social progress. In this spirit, we reaffirm our unwavering support for the Jordanian Communist Party and all those պայքարing for their rights and freedoms.
