International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
On 29 November, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the New Communist Party of the Netherlands (NCPN) once again expressed its solidarity with the Palestinian people's just struggle against Israeli occupation, oppression and imperialist aggression, and for their own Palestinian state.
Israel is pursuing a systematic policy aimed at the permanent oppression, expulsion and extermination of the Palestinian people. The genocide in Gaza through massive bombardments, the destruction of infrastructure, the expulsion of the population and the ongoing violence perpetrated by settlers continues unabated. Even the recently announced "ceasefire" is repeatedly violated by Israel through new attacks, arrests and military operations.
At the same time, violence is escalating in the West Bank: settler militias and the Israeli army attack Palestinian villages on a daily basis, expand settlements, expel families from their land and carry out executions and collective punishments. This violence is not a "side issue" but an essential part of the attempt to make the establishment of a Palestinian state for the Palestinian people impossible.
The NCPN strongly condemns the complicity of the Dutch government, which, under the guise of "neutrality," follows the line of NATO and the EU: providing political cover for Israel, maintaining military cooperation, deepening economic relations, refusing to impose sanctions on Israel and, above all, refusing to recognise a Palestinian state. The Dutch state bears a great responsibility for these crimes by continuing to support Israel, which repeatedly tramples on international law.
The new UN Security Council plan, based on US President Trump's scandalous plan, also disregards the fundamental rights of the Palestinians, such as the complete end of the occupation, the right of return, and the national sovereignty of Palestine with the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, are being set aside in favour of the geopolitical interests of the imperialists and their monopolies. This plan does not serve the liberation of Palestine, but facilitates the huge profits that the Euro-Atlantic monopolies want to make by gaining control of transport routes, energy sources and raw materials in the context of increasing imperialist competition.
The NCPN emphasises that real solidarity does not consist of empty words or mere humanitarian indignation, but of actively fighting the imperialist EU, US and NATO, which enable the Israeli bourgeoisie to exterminate the Palestinian people and deny them their right to their own state.
We call on the working class in the Netherlands to support the struggle of the Palestinian people, to organise, and to expose the hypocrisy of the Dutch government and its imperialist allies. The liberation of Palestine is linked to the struggle of peoples worldwide against imperialism and capitalist barbarism.
Stop the genocide – stop Dutch complicity!
Long live the struggle of the Palestinian people
