Statement issued by the Palestinian Communist Party on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba

O masses of our Palestinian Arab people,
O sons and daughters of the working class, the toilers, the peasants, and the revolutionary intellectuals,
O free people of our Arab nation and the struggling peoples of the world against colonialism and imperialism,

On the fifteenth of May, the 78th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba passes—this open wound in the body of our people and our nation—the day when Palestine was uprooted by force of Zionist settler colonialism, backed by global imperialism, foremost among it U.S. imperialism, which continues to provide political, military, and economic cover for the machinery of killing and occupation.

The Nakba was not a passing historical event; it was a settler-colonial project aimed at uprooting the Palestinian people from their land, dismantling their national and class identity, and transforming Palestine into a forward base for imperialist capitalism in the heart of the Arab homeland. Since that time, our people have continued their heroic resistance, offering convoys of martyrs, prisoners, and wounded in defense of their historic right to liberation, return, and self-determination.

This year’s Nakba anniversary comes amid a brutal genocidal war being waged against our steadfast people in the Gaza Strip, where the Zionist occupation commits the most heinous crimes against civilians—children, women, and the elderly—targeting human life, infrastructure, and all conditions of existence, in a desperate attempt to break the will of resistance and subjugate our people. Yet Gaza, as always, has proven that struggling peoples are never defeated, and that the will for liberation is stronger than the machinery of oppression and terror.

In the occupied West Bank, the chapters of the Nakba continue in different forms through the escalation of the settler-colonial project, the expansion of settlement outposts, ongoing raids on Palestinian cities, camps, and villages, and the imposition of siege and military checkpoints. This is in addition to the daily assaults carried out by fascist settler gangs against our people in villages and communities—burning homes and agricultural lands, uprooting trees, and forcibly displacing Palestinian families under the protection of the Zionist occupation forces. Repressive policies of mass arrests, abuse, and field executions are also expanding, in an attempt to impose a colonial reality by force and break the will of our struggling people. Yet our masses in the West Bank, as in Gaza, Jerusalem, the occupied interior, and the diaspora, continue their steadfastness and resistance in defense of land, existence, and historic national rights.

The Palestinian Communist Party affirms that the struggle against the Zionist project is not a struggle over borders or negotiations over scraps of rights, but rather a struggle for national and social liberation against colonialism, occupation, and dependent class exploitation. The Palestinian cause has been and will remain a national liberation struggle, organically linked to the struggle against imperialism, dependent capitalism, and the Arab reactionary regimes that have, through silence or normalization, colluded with the Zionist enemy.

In remembrance of the sacrifices of our people over many decades, we affirm the following principles:

1. Adherence to the full and inalienable right of return for all Palestinian refugees to their homes from which they were expelled, in accordance with their historical and national rights.
2. Continuation of all forms of legitimate national resistance against occupation and colonialism, as a natural right of peoples under occupation.
3. Strengthening Palestinian national unity on the basis of a democratic, liberationist struggle program, بعيداً عن الانقسام والارتهان والرهانات العبثية على التسويات الإمبريالية.
4. Linking national liberation with social liberation, and struggling for a democratic socialist society that guarantees social justice and the rights of workers, peasants, and toilers.
5. Expanding the international solidarity front with the Palestinian people, and strengthening alliances with forces of liberation and progress worldwide in confronting imperialism, Zionism, and new fascism.

O masses of our people,

History has proven that peoples do not die, and that occupation, no matter how long it lasts, will eventually vanish. Our Palestinian people, who have endured massacres, siege, and dispossession, are capable of continuing the struggle until achieving their full national goals of liberation, return, and the establishment of a free, democratic Palestine over all its national territory.

Glory to the martyrs, freedom to the prisoners, healing to the wounded,
and victory to the people of Palestine and their resistance.

بيان صادر عن الحزب الشيوعي الفلسطيني بمناسبة الذكرى الثامنة والسبعين للنكبة الفلسطينية

يا جماهير شعبنا العربي الفلسطيني،

يا أبناء الطبقة العاملة والكادحين والفلاحين والمثقفين الثوريين،

يا أحرار أمتنا العربية وشعوب العالم المناضلة ضد الاستعمار والإمبريالية،

في الخامس عشر من أيار، تمر الذكرى الثامنة والسبعون للنكبة الفلسطينية، الجرح المفتوح في جسد شعبنا وأمتنا، يوم اقتُلعت فلسطين بقوة الاستعمار الاستيطاني الصهيوني المدعوم من الإمبريالية العالمية، وفي مقدمتها الإمبريالية الأمريكية، التي ما زالت توفر الغطاء السياسي والعسكري والاقتصادي لآلة القتل والاحتلال.

إن النكبة لم تكن حدثًا عابرًا في التاريخ، بل مشروعًا استعماريًا إحلاليًا هدفه اقتلاع الشعب الفلسطيني من أرضه وتفكيك هويته الوطنية والطبقية، وتحويل فلسطين إلى قاعدة متقدمة للرأسمالية الإمبريالية في قلب الوطن العربي. ومنذ ذلك التاريخ، يواصل شعبنا مقاومته البطولية، مقدمًا قوافل الشهداء والأسرى والجرحى دفاعًا عن حقه التاريخي في التحرر والعودة وتقرير المصير.

وتأتي ذكرى النكبة هذا العام في ظل حرب إبادة جماعية وحشية يتعرض لها شعبنا في قطاع غزة الصامد، حيث يمارس الاحتلال الصهيوني أبشع الجرائم بحق المدنيين من أطفال ونساء وشيوخ، مستهدفًا الإنسان والحجر وكل مقومات الحياة، في محاولة يائسة لكسر إرادة المقاومة وإخضاع شعبنا. لكن غزة، كما كانت دومًا، أثبتت أن الشعوب المناضلة لا تُهزم، وأن إرادة التحرر أقوى من آلة البطش والإرهاب.

وفي الضفة الغربية المحتلة، تتواصل فصول النكبة بأشكالها المختلفة، عبر تصعيد المشروع الاستيطاني الاستعماري، وتوسيع البؤر الاستيطانية، ومواصلة اقتحام المدن والمخيمات والقرى الفلسطينية، وفرض الحصار والحواجز العسكرية، إلى جانب الاعتداءات اليومية التي تنفذها قطعان المستوطنين الفاشيين بحق أبناء شعبنا في القرى والتجمعات الفلسطينية، من إحراق للمنازل والأراضي الزراعية، واقتلاع للأشجار، وتهجير للعائلات الفلسطينية تحت حماية قوات الاحتلال الصهيوني. كما تتسع سياسات القمع والاعتقال

الجماعي والتنكيل والإعدامات الميدانية، في محاولة لفرض واقع استعماري بالقوة وكسر إرادة شعبنا المناضل، إلا أن جماهير شعبنا في الضفة، كما في غزة والقدس والداخل والشتات، تواصل صمودها ومقاومتها دفاعًا عن الأرض والوجود والحقوق الوطنية التاريخية.

إن الحزب الشيوعي الفلسطيني يؤكد أن المعركة مع المشروع الصهيوني ليست معركة حدود أو تفاوض على فتات الحقوق، بل هي معركة تحرر وطني واجتماعي ضد الاستعمار والاحتلال والاستغلال الطبقي. فالقضية الفلسطينية كانت وستبقى قضية تحرر وطني مرتبطة عضوياً بالنضال ضد الإمبريالية والرأسمالية التابعة والرجعية العربية التي تواطأت، بصمتها أو بتطبيعها، مع العدو الصهيوني.

وإذ نستذكر تضحيات شعبنا على مدار عقود طويلة، فإننا نؤكد على المبادئ التالية:

1. التمسك بحق العودة الكامل وغير القابل للتصرف لجميع اللاجئين الفلسطينيين إلى ديارهم التي هُجروا منها، وفقًا للحقوق التاريخية والوطنية الثابتة.
2. مواصلة المقاومة الوطنية بكل أشكالها المشروعة ضد الاحتلال والاستعمار، باعتبارها حقًا طبيعيًا للشعوب الواقعة تحت الاحتلال.
3. تعزيز الوحدة الوطنية الفلسطينية على أساس برنامج كفاحي ديمقراطي تحرري، بعيدًا عن الانقسام والتبعية والرهانات العبثية على التسويات الإمبريالية.
4. الربط بين التحرر الوطني والتحرر الاجتماعي، والنضال من أجل مجتمع ديمقراطي اشتراكي يضمن العدالة الاجتماعية وحقوق العمال والفلاحين والكادحين.
5. توسيع جبهة التضامن الأممية مع الشعب الفلسطيني، وتعزيز التحالف مع قوى التحرر والتقدم في العالم في مواجهة الإمبريالية والصهيونية والفاشية الجديدة.

يا جماهير شعبنا،

لقد أثبت التاريخ أن الشعوب لا تموت، وأن الاحتلال إلى زوال مهما طال الزمن. وإن شعبنا الفلسطيني، الذي صمد في وجه المجازر والحصار والاقتلاع، قادر على مواصلة النضال حتى تحقيق أهدافه الوطنية الكاملة في التحرر والعودة وإقامة فلسطين الحرة الديمقراطية على كامل ترابها الوطني.

المجد للشهداء، الحرية للأسرى، الشفاء للجرحى،

والنصر لشعب فلسطين ومقاومته.
