Statement of Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas (PKP-1930, The Philippine Communist Party) on the Events in Venezuela

The Philippine Communist Party (PCP-1930) strongly condemned the attack perpetuated by the Armed Forces of the United States of America against Venezuela and the kidnapping of its President …Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Dr. Cilia Flores. The stealth attack took place last January 4, 2025, and has caused the death of more than ninety (90) persons and the bombing of five (5) other places in Venezuela.

The aim of the attack and kidnapping is to launch a regime change in Venezuela and to facilitate the control of American companies to the rich mineral resources, primarily oil and gas, gold and other valuable minerals.

Clearly the attack and kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife is contrary to international law for it is a brazen invasion of a free and sovereign nation and direct intervention to the political freedom of its people. 

At the same time, the Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas (PKP-1930) firmly expresses its support for the current government of Venezuela under the leadership of Vice President Delcy Rodríguez. This includes their demand for President Nicolás Maduro to be returned to Venezuela and for the Trump administration of the United States (USA) to be held accountable for the crimes it committed and the damage inflicted on the people as a result of its aggression.
