Statement of Solidarity with Cuba
We in the Sudanese Communist Party express our unwavering solidarity with the people of Cuba and with Cuban communists. We unequivocally reject the continued economic blockade imposed on Cuba and strongly condemn all attempts by the United States to interfere in Cuba’s internal affairs or to pursue regime change through economic pressure, political coercion, or covert destabilization.
For more than six decades, the blockade has caused severe economic and humanitarian consequences for the Cuban people, limiting access to medicine, technology, financial systems, and essential goods, while undermining the nation’s development and sovereignty. Such measures constitute a form of collective punishment directed not only at a government, but at an entire population seeking to determine its own social, economic, and political future.
We reaffirm our steadfast solidarity with the Cuban people and their right to live free from siege, coercion, and external domination. The future of Cuba must be determined solely by the Cuban people themselves, through their own democratic, social, and political processes, without foreign intervention or external imposition.
We further emphasize the importance of upholding international law, the principles of state sovereignty, and the right of peoples to self-determination as established in the Charter of the United Nations. All unilateral coercive measures and actions that contravene these principles must be opposed. No state possesses the authority to impose its political will upon another through sanctions, threats, or economic warfare.
At a time when the international community confronts escalating crises of inequality, conflict, and displacement, international solidarity must be founded upon mutual respect among nations and opposition to all forms of imperial domination. The continued blockade of Cuba is inconsistent with these principles and remains an unacceptable remnant of Cold War-era hostility.
We therefore call for the immediate termination of the blockade, an end to all efforts intended to destabilize Cuba, and the normalization of relations on the basis of equality, sovereignty, and respect for the will of the Cuban people.
