Message of Solidarity with the Communist Party of India (Marxist)!

The Tudeh Party of Iran strongly condemns the reactionary and politically motivated raid carried out by Indian police special forces on the home of Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and former Chief Minister of Kerala, as well as the subsequent arrests and attacks against the General Secretary of the CPI(M), Comrade M.A. Baby, other leading cadres, members, and supporters of the fraternal CPI (M). 

These repressive actions by the BJP government under Narendra Modi constitute a blatant assault on democratic rights, freedom of political organization, and the legitimate struggles of the working class and progressive forces in India. The use of state agencies, police repression, and intimidation against communists and democratic activists reveals once again the authoritarian and anti-people character of the policies pursued by the ruling reactionary forces in India. 

The Tudeh Party of Iran, itself a victim of repressive policies of a theocratic regime, unequivocally condemns these attacks and demands the immediate and unconditional release of Comrade M.A. Baby and all detained cadres and members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). 

The growing repression directed against communists, trade unionists, students, and progressive movements in India is part of a broader attempt to silence opposition to anti-working-class and pro-corporate policies. History has repeatedly demonstrated that no amount of intimidation, violence, or repression can silence parties rooted in the struggles and aspirations of the working people. 

The Tudeh Party of Iran expresses its full solidarity with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), its leadership, members, and supporters in their struggle against repression, authoritarianism, and unpopular policies. We stand firmly alongside the workers, peasants, democratic activists, and progressive forces of India in defence of democratic freedoms and social justice.
