The Tudeh Party of Irancondemns the arrest of respected and progressivesocial scientists, writers, and researchers in Iran!

The Tudeh Party of Iran strongly condemns the raid by the Iranian regime's security forces on the country's progressive writers, researchers, and translators!

According to the latest reports, the security forces of the theocratic regime of Iran have arrested several progressive writers, researchers, and translators in a broad raid. Based on a report from the Telegram channel of the news group ofEmtedaad newspaper published in Tehran, on Monday, 3 November, the regime's security forces arrested Parviz Sedaghat, Rasoul Ghanbari, Mahsa Asadollahnejad, and Shirin Karimi, researchers in the fields of social sciences and political economy; Mohammad Maljou has also been summoned to the regime's security centers. There is no information on the whereabouts of Mohammad Maljou after being summoned to the security centers.

According to Shargh Media Group, Mahtab Sedaghat, the daughter of Parviz Sedaghat who is the chief editor of the magazine Criticism of Political Economy, described the details of her father's arrest in an interview with Shargh, saying that the officers went to the house at around 7:15 a.m. and arrested him after searching the house.

According to Shargh, Mahsa Asadollahnejad, a PhD in political sociology, was also arrested this morning while she was at her parents' home, after her electronic devices were confiscated.

The Iranian regime's security apparatus' large-scale raid on the country's progressive writers, researchers, and translators, at a time when the regime is more discredited than ever before and is faced with chronic socio-economic crises, growing discontent among the vast majority of the population, and widespread protests by working people, is an indication of the deep fear of the Islamic Republic's leaders and security agencies of the country's leftist and progressive intellectuals.

It is no coincidence that in the past year we have witnessed a massive propaganda attack by the think tanks of the security apparatus in the country's mainstream media against progressive and leftist forces, especially the Tudeh Party of Iran. The regime and its security apparatus want a "leftist" and "intellectual" force, and allow it to operate, that operatesalong the Islamic Republic's "axis of resistance" and one of its tasks is to attack and denounce the country's true progressive forces.

The Tudeh Party of Iran strongly condemns this repressive attack on the country's progressive writers, researchers, and translators and calls for their immediate and unconditional release.

The Tudeh Party of Iran calls on all progressive and freedom-loving forces in Iran and the world to raise their voices to protest this organized attack by the regime's security forces on the country's progressive and popular writers, researchers, and translators and demand their immediate and unconditional release.
