The Tudeh Party of Iranstrongly condemns the US imperialist military threats against Venezuela!

The racist and quasi-fascist administration of Donald Trump, which is trying to maintain the US global hegemony, has launched another military aggression in recent weeks, this time targeting Venezuela. 

The U.S. military attack from the air and sea on boats allegedly carrying Venezuelan-produced drugs is nothing more than a fabricated pretext for aggression against a sovereign country that has never posed a threat to the United States. Such actions, which are clearly in violation of international law, are part of the strategic efforts of US imperialism to impose political-military hegemony on the Latin American region and to find a cover for a military invasion and occupation of Venezuela. 

As the U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth recently declared, "The Western Hemisphere is in America's neighbourhood, and we will protect it." Such rhetoric reveals the imperialist goals of US policy, which perceives independent nations not as peers but as territories to be contained. 

In the relentless pursuit of its goals, US imperialism shows complete disregard for international laws and conventions. Civilians are deliberately targeted, and the United States is not ashamed of its display of brutality. The Washington Post reported that in an attack on a Venezuelan boat, two survivors of the initial explosion, who were still clinging to the burning boat, were shot "again" and killed. Such actions are considered examples of war crimes.

The people of our country Iran witnessed the same pattern of illegal and criminal aggression in June of this year. At the time, the U.S. attacked Iran's nuclear facilities, a move that clearly violates international law and demonstrates the U.S. government's willingness to violate international conventions to assert its hegemony in the Middle East. 

The Tudeh Party of Iran strongly condemns the provocative and illegal US attacks on Venezuelan boats, as well as the Trump administration's belligerent policies designed to provoke a military confrontation in the Latin American region. 

We stand in solidarity with, and support, the Venezuelan people, the Communist Party of Venezuela and all the democratic forces of Venezuela in their struggle to defend their country's national sovereignty against imperialist interventions and military threats.
